Disney Guests Left Dangling 108 Feet Up, Forced To Climb Down Themselves

Have you ever thought about what it would be like to get stuck at the top of a roller coaster at Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort? Well, one Disney Park guest recently shared her experience evacuating one of the highest points of the Incredicoaster at Disney California Adventure Park!

The Incredicoaster is a long-standing feature of Disney California Adventure Park–it opened as California Screamin’ alongside the second Southern California Disney Park in February 2001. In 2018, Walt Disney Imagineers rethemed the wooden roller coaster after The Incredibles (2004) to align with Paradise Pier’s transformation into Pixar Pier.

When The Incredicoaster experiences a technical or safety issue, Disney cast members make every effort to safely bring the roller coaster trains back to the loading area to evacuate guests. However, sometimes, it’s not possible to restart the attraction with guests on board, forcing Disney cast members to help guests unload onto emergency exit platforms throughout the attraction.

TikTok user @themadivlog recently shared her experience evacuating the Incredicoaster after it got stuck at nearly a “90-degree” angle.

“We have to walk down?” the Disney Park guest exclaimed. “No! …Walking down the highest point on a roller coaster was not on my to-do list.”

Eventually, A Disney cast member arrived to unlock the guests’ safety restraints and help them out of the ride vehicles. He instructed them to remove and secure any hats, glasses, ears, or other loose items that could fall off. If the guests were truly stuck at the ride’s highest drop, they could’ve been as high as 108 feet in the air!

A group of excited people ride a red roller coaster with their hands gripping the safety bars. The coaster is mid-ride with steep, looping tracks and supports visible in the background. Everyone appears to be enjoying the thrill, smiling and laughing.

The guests slowly descended the stairs back into Disney California Adventure Park. Disney cast members gave them complimentary Lightning Lane passes to use on another ride or when Incredicoaster reopened. However, the TikToker said she “would not” be riding the Pixar roller coaster again.

Disneyland Resort didn’t publicize the reason for this Incredicoaster evacuation, but the ride eventually reopened and operated normally at the time of this article’s finalization.
