When planning a Disney vacation, one of the biggest things guests hope to have is good weather. Orlando, Florida, the host city of Walt Disney World Resort, is unfortunately known for its unpredictable weather.
After spending months planning a perfect vacation at Disney, it can be heartbreaking to see your vacation plans crumble due to bad weather.
For vacationers planning on heading to Disney this Presidents’ Day weekend, things are worse than just bad weather; one theme park is actually closing its doors due to Winter weather.

Disney Theme Park Closes Due to Winter Weather
As a result of an unfavorable weather forecast for the upcoming weekend in Central Florida, Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park, a popular attraction at Walt Disney World, will be closed for the safety and comfort of its guests.
On both Saturday, February 17, and Sunday, February 18, 2024, the park will not be operating due to predicted weather conditions. According to the forecast, temperatures are expected to plummet, reaching the mid-50s during this period.
The closure decision has been made in consideration of the well-being of visitors to Blizzard Beach. Disney continuously prioritizes the safety and enjoyment of its guests, and therefore, taking into account the predicted drop in temperatures, the park management has chosen to close the water park temporarily.
A Unfortunate Turn of Events
Florida, known for its warm and sunny climate, occasionally experiences unexpected weather patterns, and in this particular instance, the region is anticipated to encounter colder temperatures. To maintain a comfortable and enjoyable experience for visitors, Walt Disney World has made the decision to suspend operations at Blizzard Beach for the specified days.
While this closure may bring some disappointment to guests who were excited to visit the water park during the weekend, it is crucial to note that the management’s primary concern is the safety and well-being of everyone on the premises. This decision was the only option for Disney to make.
It was announced earlier this month that Blizzard Beach would be closing indefinitely for renovations later this year. This makes this weekend’s closures even more devastating for fans trying to enjoy this park before it is gone for the foreseeable future.
