The 2021 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays has begun! This is the shortest of the four festivals at EPCOT, it runs only until December 30.

For many Guests, the highlight of all of the festivals at EPCOT is the extra food offered around and near World Showcase. For Festival of the Holidays, they are called Holiday Kitchens. They feature the chefs’ takes on seasonal dishes from around the world.

Brand new this year is Chestnuts & Good Cheer Holiday Kitchen. This kitchen is located at the World Showcase Entrance on the Mexico side. If you’ve always wondered what chestnuts taste like after they’ve been roasted on an open fire, you can finally find out. Cinnamon-glazed almonds, cashews, and pecans are sold as well.

One question that many Guests have for each festival is what will be served at The Donut Box. For Festival of the Holidays you’ll find Pumpkin Cake Donut with Pumpkin Spice Icing, Holiday Donut with Coconut and Crisp Pearls, Chocolate Peppermint Donut, and Egg Nog and Cream-filled Donut with Cinnamon Icing and Crumbled Gingersnap Cookies. For beverages, try the non-alcoholic Gingerbread Milkshake, or add Whipped Cream Vodka if you’re of age.

There are plenty of other holiday sweets that you’ll want to try. Holiday Sweets & Treats Holiday Kitchen has Peppermint Sundaes. Holiday Hearth Desserts Holiday Kitchen has several types of cookies as well as Peppermint Bark and Red Velvet Mini Bundt Cake with Cream Cheese Icing. There are plenty of seasonal desserts at the other Holiday Kitchens as well.

Speaking of cookies, the popular Holiday Cookie Stroll has returned this year. Pick up a Passport when you enter EPCOT, and then purchase a cookie at each of the five participating locations. Have your Passport stamped, and when all five spots are filled, you can pick up a fifth cookie for free.

There are specialty drinks in the Holiday Kitchens as well, both with and without alcohol. There is a nice selection of wines at Tuscany Holiday Kitchen. Yukon Holiday Kitchen has craft beers from both Florida and Canada. You can order a cider flight at Tangierine Café. At Shi Wasu Holiday Kitchen you can order the non-alcoholic Chocolate Banana Boba.

These are just some of the highlights of the Holiday Kitchens at this year’s EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. There are so many different choices that you might want to add a second day at EPCOT to your vacation just so you can try as many as possible.

Of course, there is more to the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays than just food. There is also extra entertainment and activities for the whole family. It may be a short festival, but it is packed with fun.

About PaulaK

I grew up in Western Massachusetts. When I was nine my family went to Disneyland and I was hooked. I grew up, attended New England College in Henniker, NH and eventually moved to Virginia. I worked as a disc jockey, married and became a full time mom when our daughter was born. Fast forward several years. In 2010 we moved to Central Florida and my Disney obsession grew. I now work as a freelance writer and spend my spare time in the parks. Under the name Paula Brown I penned the novels Dream Wanderers and The Coffee Cruiser. I also am a co-author of Dining at Walt Disney World: The Definitive Guide. I'm obsessed with Star Wars, so this is a good time to live in Central Florida. I've been a vegetarian for well over a decade, a choice that my daughter eventually made as well. While my husband still hasn't joined us fully he has given up most meats except for seafood. I was relieved to find that vegetarian dining is not difficult at Walt Disney World.
