Walt Disney World is undoubtedly the Most Magical Place on Earth, but that can’t stop the Disney Resort from experiencing tragedy.
Walt Disney World is no stranger to devastating events, as Guests have been injured and, in rare cases, have even died while visiting the Disney Parks. But that doesn’t make it any less jarring to hear of, or even witness firsthand (goodness forbid).
Unfortunately, one Guest recently witnessed a tragic event while leaving Magic Kingdom’s classic Big Thunder Mountain Railroad attraction.
As they exited the roller coaster, one Guest reportedly witnessed a man on the ground, lying unconscious. The man’s shirt had been ripped off, and he lay there while someone began chest compressions, likely performing CPR.
They posted about the situation on social media, asking for support as they tried to process what they had witnessed. They ended their post with an apology, typing, “I’m sorry for such a sad post on such a happy forum but it really hit me hard about life today.”
Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing what happened to the unconscious Guest, although we hope he and his loved ones are okay.
If there is a silver lining to this tragic situation, it’s that the online Walt Disney World community quickly came together to comfort and support the Guest as they processed what they witnessed.
The original poster later updated their post, stating that although they were still rattled by what they had seen, the kind words of the online community were incredibly comforting.
It’s important to remember that mental health is just as important as physical health, especially when it comes to processing difficult situations such as these.
