As COVID-19 resurges have caused Hong Kong Disneyland to close once again, along with Disneyland Resort in California to remain closed, we’ve been nervously awaiting what this may mean for Walt Disney World. Yesterday, November 30, Florida Governor cleared the air saying no new lockdowns, mask mandates or anti-COVID-19 measures will be placed.
As shared by OrlandoSentinel: Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday (Nov. 30) ruled out imposing any further coronavirus restrictions or a mask mandate, despite rising case numbers across the state and nation. DeSantis said there would be “no lockdowns, no fines, no school closures. No one’s losing their job because of a government dictate. Nobody’s losing their livelihood or their business.” “That is totally off the table,” he said.
Positive coronavirus cases have been trending higher in Florida, with 54,246 new cases and 509 newly reported deaths Sunday to Sunday in state health department data. The state reported 7,363 new positive cases of COVID-19 and 58 more resident deaths on Sunday, with total cases closing in on 1 million and the death toll nearing 19,000. DeSantis pointed to the number of cases also rising in states that had mandates as a reason not to have one in Florida.
