For decades, The Walt Disney Company has been a wildly successful company, making tens of millions of dollars in profit every year. Those who work at Disney know how lucky they are to see continued success year after year. They also know how important it is to give back to the communities in their area and help those, especially children, who are less fortunate. So, Disney works with a number of charitable organizations, including food banks, Toys for Tots, and children’s hospitals.

One of those hospitals is Children’s National Hospital — a nationally ranked hospital located in Washington, D.C.  The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21 throughout the region. The hospital is a level I pediatric trauma center, the only one in the District of Columbia. Children’s National also has a pediatric intensive-care unit, as well as a neonatal intensive-care unit.

President Joe Biden and his wife, First Lady, Jill Biden, recently visited with some of the children who are or have been patients at the hospital and read stories to them to celebrate the Christmas season. Many of those books were donated by Disney and the First Lady thanked the Company for their generous donation via her Twitter page.

Thank you @ChildrensNatl for all you do, and to all the children we met today, we hold you and your families in our hearts this holiday season.

A special thanks to @Disney for donating books to all the children at @ChildrensNatl – we all felt the holiday magic of Olaf!

During the holiday season, Disney amps up their charity work even more. Recently, Disney donated $500,000 to the Toys for Tots program and Cast Members came together and donated tens of thousands of toys to children across the country — giving 10,000 to children in the Orlando area alone. Disney VoluntEARS also work very closely with Second Harvest Food Bank in both Orlando and Anaheim — where Disneyland Resort is located.

What is your favorite charity to donate to during the holiday season?
