Fired ‘GMA’ Stars Drop Bombshell About Their Relationship on Air
It’s been more than two years since Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes were removed from Good Morning America following a media frenzy that exposed their off-screen relationship. The pair had been co-hosting GMA3: What You Need to Know, winning over viewers with their natural chemistry and polished delivery.
But once photos surfaced of the two together outside of work—and while both were still married to other people—everything changed.

Their removal from ABC was swift and controversial, with many wondering what would come next for the once-popular anchors. Now, after taking time out of the spotlight, launching multiple new ventures, and speaking candidly about their past, the couple may have just hinted at a new chapter—and it’s one that has fans speculating once again.
Robach and Holmes first addressed their departure from ABC and the fallout of their relationship on their iHeartRadio podcast Amy & T.J., which launched a year after their suspension. The show gave them a platform to reflect on their personal struggles and professional losses, while making it clear they were committed to moving forward—together.
They also opened up about the dark times they both experienced, making it clear that their bond had only grown stronger.

In September 2024, they joined Jennie Garth and Jana Kramer to launch a second podcast called I Do, Part 2, focused on finding love again after divorce. That podcast was created to speak to listeners who have been through heartbreak and are trying to rebuild.
But it was during a recent episode that Holmes made a comment that sent fans into a frenzy. While speaking about his relationship with Robach, he said:
If you got love right the first time around, this ain’t the show for you. I’m T.J. Holmes, alongside my friend, my partner, my podcast cohost Amy Robach.
With my person, my partner, my spouse. What’s the right way to put it? Love of my life — there it is! That you had to feed me that line is a little disturbing.

Although Robach didn’t confirm or deny anything in that moment, her reaction was telling—she didn’t object or correct him, and the moment passed without any official clarification.
Naturally, that was all it took to reignite rumors that have been swirling for nearly three years. The pair has been tight-lipped about whether they plan to marry, though they have previously said they’re “in it for the long haul.” There have been no public photos suggesting a wedding or engagement, but for a couple entering what could be their third marriage each, privacy might be the point.
Both Robach and Holmes have been married twice before. Holmes was previously married to attorney Marilee Fiebig, while Robach was married to Melrose Place star Andrew Shue and, before that, to Tim McIntosh.
Robach has been open about her past, sharing that she married McIntosh at just 23 years old and later admitted that her whirlwind engagement to Shue—after just four months—was “a little embarrassing.”
Since parting ways with GMA, Robach and Holmes haven’t slowed down. In addition to their two podcasts, they’ve announced a new weekly advice column launching June 9, which will focus on the messier side of relationships—a topic they now know plenty about.
Despite the scandal that initially derailed their careers, the two have continued to build a media presence and reconnect with their audience on their own terms. It’s clear they have no intention of disappearing from the spotlight, and based on their growing fanbase, that might just work in their favor.
So, what do you think? Was Holmes just being affectionate—or did he accidentally reveal that he and Robach are already married? Do you think ABC made the right decision letting them go? And would you watch them if they returned to TV? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
