Guest Reports Fire at Disney’s Monorail
Beyond its practicality, the Walt Disney World Monorail also holds a special place in the hearts of Disney fans as a symbol of innovation and nostalgia. Unfortunately, that magic may have run out for guests riding it yesterday.
Guests are reporting that a fire broke out unexpectedly beneath Disney’s iconic Monorail transportation system. The alleged incident caused a stir among park visitors as they were stranded in midair. According to sources on the scene, the fire caused the monorail above to stop running.

As the monorail stopped, the power inside the individual cars did as well. One guest shared the excruciating situation, saying:
“STAY AWAY FROM THE MONORAIL!!!! We’re currently stuck with no AC NO power nothing
UPDATE! We got off. There was a fire on the grass underneath the monorail.”
Despite the alarming nature of the incident, there were no reported injuries, and park operations resumed as usual after the situation was brought under control. According to this source, the incident happened underneath the Magic Kingdom Monorail.

Not the First Time This Has Happened
While this story is truly unfortunate, it is not as unusual as it may appear. In fact, this is the second time this year that a fire has erupted underneath a Disney ride transportation. The other instance was on the Disney Skyliner near a gas station that had caught fire on Walt Disney World Resort property.
