Final 11 Days: Walt Disney World Warns Guests Before Major Disney Springs Transportation Cutoff
Walt Disney World visitors heading to Disney Springs may soon notice something new at the transportation area. Blue warning signs have appeared throughout the bus loop, letting guests know that a major transportation policy change is just around the corner.
While the update doesn’t officially take effect until June 28, Disney is already preparing guests for what could be a significant adjustment to how some visitors move around the resort.

According to WDWMAGIC, Disney has installed signage notifying guests that transportation from Disney Springs to Disney Resort hotels will soon require verification. That means guests won’t simply be able to hop on a resort bus or water taxi as they have in the past.
Instead, visitors will need to show proof of an eligible reservation.
Disney says guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel, those with a dining reservation at a resort, or those with a confirmed resort experience reservation will still be able to use the transportation system. However, guests without those reservations may find themselves looking for alternative ways to travel around property.
The decision follows testing that reportedly took place during busy holiday periods, including New Year’s and Easter. During those trials, Cast Members verified reservations before allowing guests to board transportation.
For years, Disney Springs has served as more than just a shopping and dining destination. Some guests used the area as an unofficial transportation hub, parking there before traveling elsewhere around Walt Disney World property.

Disney appears determined to put an end to that practice.
The company has never publicly encouraged guests to use Disney Springs in that manner, and growing crowds at transportation stops likely contributed to the decision. Resort guests frequently reported long waits and crowded bus lines, especially during evenings when Disney Springs is busiest.
Still, not everyone believes the new policy will solve Disney’s transportation challenges.
Many of the longest bus lines are already made up of resort guests, meaning buses could remain crowded even after the verification process begins. Disney has not announced any transportation expansions, additional buses, or increased service frequencies alongside the policy change.
That leaves some guests wondering whether the experience will actually improve or simply become more exclusive.

Either way, the message from Disney is becoming clear. Beginning June 28, transportation from Disney Springs to Disney Resort hotels will no longer be open to everyone.
For visitors planning summer vacations, it’s one more change worth knowing before arriving at Walt Disney World.
