Figment Popcorn Buckets Are Back! But With A New Way to Purchase

When EPCOT International Festival of the Arts kicked off, there was one piece of merchandise that Guests could not wait to get their hands on — a popcorn bucket in the shape of everyone’s favorite purple dragon, Figment. The popcorn bucket sold out in less than two days, and Guests waited upwards of 5 hours for the chance to purchase some of them. Even though purchases were supposed to be limited, Guests were seen walking away with a number of the buckets.

Guests have been waiting weeks to see if the beloved popcorn buckets would return, and now we know that they have! Disney is giving Guests a Valentine’s Day gift, and the buckets are once again in EPCOT. However, there has been a big change in the way Guests can purchase them. According to the My Disney Experience app, Guests now need to purchase the Figment popcorn bucket via Mobile Order.

At the time of publication, there were a number of times available on Mobile Order to pick up the bucket, but if you are visiting the theme park today, it is suggested that you place your order as soon as possible. Only 2 buckets can be purchased per Guest, and it will only add two to your cart, regardless of how high it lets the number go when asking you how many you want.

Some Guests visiting Walt Disney World have been taking advantage of the two per Guest and having every person in their party order two. From there, they take all of the buckets and sell them online. Figment fans looking to purchase a bucket online have only been able to find scalpers reselling them at the astronomical price of nearly $200 per bucket. When purchased in the Park, the bucket costs $25.

When it comes to such a popular piece of merchandise, mobile ordering may be the way to go. Guests who did not want the popcorn bucket were made to wait in the 5 hours lines along with everyone else. With the popcorn bucket now being available through mobile order, those who just want to purchase food will not have to wait in a line that snakes through most of the Park.

Disney has not said how many popcorn buckets are available, but hopefully, the Mobile Order option will mean that the buckets will be available for a little longer for those Guests who can’t make it to the Park right away.
