Walt Disney World just got a whole lot cuter.
One of the many things that make Disney special is the fact that it is the home of so much wildlife. The natural ecosystem of Central Florida and Southern California is on full display at the Parks. However, not all of the animals in Disney are wild.
Fans visiting Walt Disney World Resort this week were in for the surprise of their lives when they caught a glimpse of some very unique furry friends on the property.
The Cats and Kittens of Disney
One of the most unique facts about Disney Parks is that they are actually home to some feral cats. Over the years, some lucky fans have managed to catch a glimpse of these adorable Disney cats. The cats are usually quite skittish, and they mostly keep to themselves. However, the closure of an iconic Disney ride has provided the perfect place for these cats to call home.
Earlier this year, one of the most infamous Walt Disney World Attractions closed down. On January 23, 2023, Splash Mountain was closed down permanently at Magic Kingdom. Now the old log flume ride, located at Frontierland in Magic Kingdom, is undergoing renovations. The ride will be transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which is expected to open in 2024.
Guests visiting the Park since the closure have been able to see the construction take place. The Disney Park ride looks eerily abandoned from the outside. One Guest was taking in the construction efforts when they saw a genuinely adorable sight.
It seems that the Disney cats have taken over Splash Mountain as it undergoes its retheme. TikToker @manyadventuresofautumn shared a video of the adorable feline strutting around the ride.

As construction continues, the cats will eventually have to vacate the attraction, but for now, this is incredibly adorable. The next time you are in Walt Disney World, be sure to check out the Disney cats!
