Date Set for the Post-Fire Return of Fantasmic! to Disney Park

After enduring a tragic fire incident that occurred last year, Fantasmic at Disneyland faced an unfortunate closure. The beloved nighttime spectacular was temporarily halted, leaving guests and fans eagerly awaiting its triumphant return. Amidst much anticipation and speculation, it has been officially announced that Fantasmic! will once again mesmerize audiences at Disneyland this spring. The Return of Fantasmic!

Fantasmic!, the beloved nighttime spectacular at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, is a captivating show that combines fireworks, music, special effects, and your favorite Disney characters. As night falls, Mickey Mouse takes the audience on a journey through his imagination, facing off against classic Disney villains like Maleficent.

Re-Opening Date Revealed

Unfortunately, this show suffered from a mechanical fire last year that caused a closure of the nighttime performance. It was previously announced that the show would be returning this spring. Now, we know an official date for that return. Fantasmic! at Frontierland in Disneyland Park is officially opening on May 24, 2024. Now that the attraction has bounced back from the Anaheim fire, fans are more eager than ever to see the return of this show in California.

Disney describes the show, saying;

“As darkness falls, dazzling special effects transform the Rivers of America into an epic canvas for this extravagant live show.

Fast asleep, Mickey dreams he is the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. With a wave of his hands, he conducts scenes from Fantasia across enormous screens of water while brilliant sparks burst overhead. Pink elephants, swashbuckling pirates, princesses and more—including memorable scenes from Disney classics such as Aladdin, The Lion King, Tangled and Pirates of the Caribbean—appear on and around the Rivers of America.

When Mickey is suddenly pulled into the Magic Mirror, his dream takes a dark turn. The Evil Queen from Snow White conjures up some of Disney’s most dastardly villains! Mickey must use the power of his imagination to vanquish his foes—and save the day.

Featuring a fantastical array of live performers, beloved Disney characters, enhanced special effects, state-of-the-art projections and superb pyrotechnics, this show will wow the entire family.”
