What will fill Fantasmic’s big shoes?
The Fantasmic Disneyland show is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular nighttime entertainment experiences that Disney Parks have to offer. Located at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, the show has become a must-see attraction for visitors from all around the world.
One of the main highlights of the Fantasmic show is the Maleficent Dragon. The massive 40-foot dragon’s size alone is enough to make you stop in your tracks. But what’s even more impressive than its size is the fire it breathes out. The flame that it spits is so realistic, and it completely immerses every viewer in the spectacle.

Unfortunately, it was a malfunction with this effect that caused a massive fire at Disneyland Resort earlier this year. Since then, the show at this Park has been postponed for the summer while Disney’s Imagineers solve the problem.
Now, Disney’s biggest fans have come up with the most likely replacements for Fantasmic! while it takes its hiatus.
Disney Searches for Fantasmic’s Suitable Replacement
After Disney mentioned that they are looking at a placeholder for nighttime entertainment, fans have come together to discuss some likely options.

Of all the shows, there are two larger nighttime spectaculars that fans would love to see fill the gap this summer. The first is the Main Street Electrical Parade, a fan-favorite nighttime parade that has had numerous limited engagements over the year at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. This parade would surely excite some fans and draw more Guests to the Parks.
The second fan theory is that an extra showing of the Magic Happens Parade, which currently runs at Disneyland Park, could be added. This would definitely be the easier option of the two.
Many Guests feel confident that the replacement will be a smaller-scale cavalcade due to the fast turnaround needed for the replacement.
Regardless of what ends up being the replacement, it is likely that Disney will be revealing the news soon, given that summer vacation is nearly here.
