Disney Plus’ groundbreaking Marvel Studios series WandaVison brought fans a whole new viewing experience and was an instant hit. When it was announced that the Wanda Maximoff series starring Elizabeth Olsen would conclude after one season, avid viewers were disappointed. Marvel fans are looking forward to the spinoff series starring Kathryn Hahn, but it may even be better than they expect!
Based on recent information, The Direct is speculating that Agatha: Coven of Chaos may serve as a pseudo-season two to Scarlet Witch‘s Westview story. Jac Schaeffer, creator of both WandaVision and Coven of Chaos, is also the head writer on the spinoff series. Plus, eight actors from the original are returning!
The returning actors include David Payton (Herb/John Collins), David Lengel (Phil Jones), Asif Ali (Norm/Abilash Tandon), Amos Glick (Dennis the Mailman), Brian Brightman (Sheriff), Kate Forbes (Evanora Harkness), Emma Caulfield Ford (Dottie/Sarah), and Debra Jo Rupp (Mrs. Hart/Sharon Davis).
While Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany may not be the main characters in this series, fans will still get an extended view of Westview characters and the storylines introduced in WandaVision. Audiences are expecting at least some of Agatha: Coven of Chaos to take place in Westview.
Series creators insist that WandaVision was simply a limited tv show and that the spinoff will be its own story. But fans can’t help but hope Marvel Studios is being coy with possible cameos and crossovers. If fans don’t get the WandaVision season two they’re hoping for in Coven of Chaos, there is one more rumored series that will revisit Wanda and Vision.
For now, Marvel fans are highly anticipating the Kathryn Hahn series that will supposedly go from where WandaVision left off. Audiences will surely see Agatha recover after being stripped of her powers by Scarlet Witch. The spinoff is also said to bring in a demonic character named Mephisto.
Dark Magic all around! Look out for nine episodes of Agatha: Coven of Chaos sometime in 2024.
