The excitement for this upcoming attraction is dwindling as more and more photos are being released.
When it was announced that the Splash Mountain attraction at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort were going to be replaced, many fans were devastated. Despite its controversial source material, many fans loved and cherished the original Splash Mountain attraction.
However, for many, that sadness quickly turned into excitement for the ride’s replacement, which was announced to be an attraction inspired by the iconic animated film The Princess and the Frog.
Is the Excitement Dwindling?
In 2024, Disney will welcome Guests to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, an unforgettable experience that immerses visitors into the vibrant world of Princess Tiana and her whimsical adventures. Splash Mountain, the iconic log flume attraction, is set to be reimagined into a new ride called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
As they step into this new attraction, fans are hoping to be instantly transported to the rich and lively atmosphere of the bayou. The sights, sounds, and scents of this charming Louisiana swamp should come alive, captivating all senses. From the gentle melody of jazz wafting through the air to the captivating aroma of Cajun cuisine, every detail has been meticulously dreamed up by fans of this new attraction.
For many fans, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure should be more than just an attraction; it should be a captivating journey that celebrates the spirited Princess Tiana and her unwavering determination to follow her dreams. Guests hope to experience the river coming alive with the joyful melodies of riverboat jazz, transporting them to a bygone era of soulful tunes and lively celebrations.
However, many fans are now fearing that this hopeful expectation is not going to be met with eventual disappointment.
Are We Getting Ahead of Ourselves?
As construction has begun on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, some fans have grown concerned that the reality of this ride may not exceed its high expectations. When the storyline was revealed, many fans began feeling insecure that it would captivate them as visitors.
In the ride’s storyline announcement, fans learned that it would follow Tiana’s journey in starting a small employee-owned cooperative called Tiana’s Foods. For many, this storyline doesn’t really make sense for a thrill ride.
Now, new developments to the ride’s exterior have raised even more eyebrows. On one of the ride’s buildings, which will serve as Tiana’s main office, a mural is being painted. While the mural is supposed to be inspired by the street art of New Orleans, man fans don’t feel so wowed.
Oh cool we get a graffiti barn too. Those New Orleans research trips are really paying off. https://t.co/Ws4U139Fjt

All over the internet, fans have begun spreading their discontent with the new art. One fan laments;
“I’m sorry but “Tiana’s repurposed barn” is the best they could come up with?”
“looks like a city children’s museum. not in a good way”
While it is easy for many to be disappointed with the ride so far, it is essential to remember that this attraction is not done yet. All judgment should be held off until the official opening happens next year.
