Disney Takes Action After at Least 3 Children Jump Out of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Before 50-Foot Drop

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland Park has been at the center of a string of alarming incidents all summer, and the latest one ended with an entire family being pulled from the attraction and removed from the Southern California theme park.

The pattern began in late June when a teenage boy climbed out of his family’s log at the top of the attraction’s 52.6-foot drop and fell the full distance. The moment was captured on video and spread widely online. Miraculously, the boy sustained only minor injuries. Disneyland Resort issued a rare public statement confirming that local authorities had investigated the ride’s safety mechanisms before clearing it to reopen.

In July, a second child climbed out of the log ride just before the big drop — an incident that caused an operational delay but resulted in no injury. Whether that child was aware of the earlier viral incident is unknown.

Last week brought the third episode. Instagram user @dvnttrip shared a video of Disney cast members removing an entire family from their log on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, at a point in the ride just before the vehicle ascends to the 50-plus-foot drop.

The footage shows multiple logs backed up behind the stopped family, making clear that other Disneyland Park guests had been waiting for some time while cast members handled the situation. Which child in the group had stood up — and why — isn’t clear from the video.

As the family was being removed, a Disney cast member spoke over the attraction’s intercom:

“Attention inside Tiana’s Bayou Adventure: it is experiencing a temporary delay in operation. Please remain seated with your hands and seat inside the vehicle. Failure to do so will result in removal from the park. Thank you!”

According to reports from other guests who witnessed the situation, the family was subsequently removed from Disneyland Resort entirely — though whether that means a single-day removal or a longer ban from the property hasn’t been confirmed.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has operated normally in the days following the incident. The attraction, which replaced Splash Mountain in 2024, does not feature the lap restraints present on the Walt Disney World Resort version of the ride — a design difference that has become a recurring point of discussion given the pattern of incidents this summer.
