Fall in Walt Disney World is one of our favorite times to visit.  We love the decorations, the festivals and the special events that it offers.  We are thrilled that we will be able to see a lot of our favorites return in the fall of 2021 as well as some new and exciting experiences.  Here is what we are most looking forward to this fall 2021 in Walt Disney World.

1. 50th Anniversary Celebration

October 1st, 2021 will bring Magic Kingdom’s 50th Anniversary Celebration! Disney is getting ready for this big event by saying it will be a time to “Celebrate the Small Stuff, the Big Stuff and Even the In-Between Stuff”. This 18-month celebration will start on October 1st with new decorations, new nighttime spectaculars, new entertainment, new looks for Mickey and Minnie as well as magical touches throughout the whole Disney Property. The website states: “Our Cast will be sharing magic across Walt Disney World Resort, ready to create unforgettable memories that last a lifetime.”

2. Beacons of Magic

Part of the 50th celebration will be the “Beacons of Magic”.  At each of the four Disney World theme parks, guests will be able to see the four park icons light up with wonder as they are transformed.  Cinderella Castle will dazzle with pixie dust, Spaceship Earth will symbolize beacons of possibilities and optimism, Hollywood Tower Hotel will have EARidescence glimmer and shimmer of the golden age of imagination and adventure and finally the Tree of Life will call forth the magic of nature as it is enhanced with fireflies.  Each of the four icons will be transformed on select nights and you won’t want to miss it.

3. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Along with the 50th Anniversary beginning on October 1st, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in Disney’s EPCOT will be welcoming guests on that day as well.  The whole family will be able to sip, dash and scurry through the kitchen of Gusteau’s along with Remy.  Take in the sights, sounds and smells as you have an adventure. This long-awaited ride will surely be a highlight of the fall.

4. Disney After Hours BOO Bash

If you like Halloween, you won’t want to miss out on the new BOO Bash this fall.  This new event features Halloween-themed cavalcades, character sightings, trick or treating throughout Magic Kingdom and so much more. Disney’s After-Hours Boo Bash will take place starting August 10th through October 31st on select evenings in the Magic Kingdom.  Those with a ticket will be able to get into the Magic Kingdom starting at 7pm with the event itself starting either at 9 or 9:30 pm depending on the date.  Get excited as new cavalcades including Maleficent in her dragon form will be included as are snacks such as Mickey Bars and popcorn.  This is going to be a fun, well themed party you won’t want to miss out on.

5. EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival

Fall in EPCOT brings the Food and Wine Festival.  This year the festival began on July 15th and goes through November 20th.  Back again are food booths that feature amazing dishes from around the world, live entertainment and of course activities for the whole family.  This year the festival is sponsored by CORKCICLE and with booths including African, American, Asian Bakery, British, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Mexican, Norwegian, Seafood and Sushi.  It’s a great time to be at EPCOT!

6. Cirque Du Soleil: Drawn to Life

We have been anxiously awaiting the debut of the newest Cirque Du Soleil show Drawn to Life and this fall our wait will be over.  Although we don’t have a specific opening date yet, we do know that “fall” is the hopeful time for performances to begin.  Described by Disney by, “In this first-ever collaboration between Cirque du Soleil, Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Imagineering, journey into a world where an animator’s desk becomes the stage and drawings come alive. The show is a celebration of life, accentuated by the delightful, mesmerizing movements of Cirque du Soleil’s acrobatic mastery. “We can’t wait to see this come to life.

There is so much coming to Walt Disney World this fall and we can’t wait to experience it all. From new exciting adventures like BOO Bash and Drawn to Life to returning favorites in the Food and Wine Festival, we are looking forward to Fall 2021 in Walt Disney World.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
