Tranformation of Pacific Wharf Is Well Underway
Fans were overjoyed to hear today that construction on the new area coming to Disney California Adventure is well underway. Disney has released some incredible new images showing what we can expect from the theme Park’s new development.
The area in question is going to be called San Fransokyo Square. This new area will be the result of Pacific Wharf’s big transformation. San Fransokyo Square, which was announced last year at the D23 Expo, will be a unique area inspired by the movie Big Hero 6. This movie includes themes from different cultures, and the new area will reflect that in its themeing. Disney explains, “The new Port of San Fransokyo Cerveceria draws inspiration from its tri-culltural influences with signage in English, Japanese, and Spanish.” This new development will be something very worldly for Disney California Adventure.
Guests of Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort have gotten to see the construction develop in real time. TikTok user @traintotomorrowland shared some exciting footage showing the progress in the areas construction.

When To Expect San Fransokyo Square
Disney has also announced some news on when fans can expect the new area. San Fransokyo Square will officially open at Disney California Adventure Park this summer! Fans are thrilled to know that this area will be acessable to them in a matter of months. The new area will feature an inviting beer garden and a beautifully reimagined Golden Gate Bridge. For all of the Big Hero 6 fans out there, don’t worry! Disney says that Guests will be able to meet Baymax in San Fransokyo. Baymax “encounters” will be held at a new converted warehouse space at the area’s southern end. Twitter user Scott Gustin has kept fans in the loop with all of the new and exciting announcements of the theme Park’s developments.

There is so much to look forward to seeing and experiencing in San Fransokyo Square. The new concept art that has been released looks unreal and totally unique to anything we have seen in a Disney theme Park before. All current dining spots in the area will remain open until the official opening of the Big Hero inspired area. Fans visiting the Park might even get a sneak peak at the construction of San Fransokyo Square!
