Epic Universe Announces Shocking Closure of Donkey Kong Mine-Cart Madness

In a shocking turn of events, Universal Orlando Resort’s highly anticipated Mine-Cart Madness attraction at the new Epic Universe theme park is closed for the entire day on May 7, 2025, due to ongoing technical difficulties. The closure marks the latest in a series of delays and breakdowns that have affected the ride during its preview phase.

What Happened Here?

Located within the Super Nintendo World section of Epic Universe, Mine-Cart Madness is a family-friendly roller coaster that immerses guests in the world of Donkey Kong. Riders board mine carts and embark on a thrilling journey through the jungle to protect the coveted Golden Banana, experiencing simulated jumps over gaps in the track—a nod to the iconic mine cart levels from the Donkey Kong Country video games.

Despite the innovative design and high expectations, the attraction has faced several operational challenges since its soft opening. Guests have reported extended wait times, with some experiencing delays of up to 240 minutes. Additionally, there have been instances where the ride was temporarily halted during the boarding process, leading to guest frustration and disappointment.

Guests Left Dissapointed

The closure on May 7 follows a pattern of technical issues that have plagued the ride during its preview period. While Universal Orlando Resort has not provided specific details regarding the nature of the technical difficulties, the recurring nature of the problems suggests that the attraction may require further adjustments before its official opening.

Guests planning to visit Epic Universe are advised to monitor the official Universal Orlando Resort app for real-time updates on ride availability and operational status. As the park approaches its grand opening on May 22, 2025, Universal Orlando Resort is expected to address these technical issues to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
