Shocking Setback for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure – Is This the End for the Ride?

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure recently began its preview period at Disneyland Resort, following its transformation from the beloved Splash Mountain. However, this anticipated attraction has encountered significant operational challenges since its preview phase commenced.

Reports indicate that during the initial preview opportunities for Disney cast members and Magic Key Pass Holders ahead of its November 15 opening, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure faced a series of consistent breakdowns. These operational issues often mirrored the struggles that the original Splash Mountain previously experienced, raising concerns among fans eager to enjoy the revamped ride.

In June, similar issues plagued Walt Disney World Resort’s version of the Princess and the Frog (2009) attraction. The Magic Kingdom Park ride frequently shut down hours before the theme park’s closing time, canceling preview experiences for numerous excited Annual Passholders and Disney cast members.

Disneyland Resort’s version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will officially launch in the new Bayou Country land next month. However, the issues encountered during previews are leading to an uneasy perception among Disney Parks fans.

As Disney Park guests began to share their experiences online, the operational stability of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure came into question, with many wondering if the attraction would be able to deliver a consistent experience moving forward.

The guest experience during the previews of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has been less than ideal. Several riders have reported being trapped for extended periods while aboard the log flume ride. One particularly notable incident, recorded by TikTok user @chapterthreeco, documented guests being trapped for nearly 50 minutes with the ride’s lights on, just shy of reaching the unloading station.

It took 30 minutes for Disney cast members to turn off the attraction’s repetitive music loop and another 20 minutes to begin the evacuation process.

Another TikTok user, @tortenini, wrote, “The magic is gone” after getting stuck on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure with the lights on:

@drewthedisneymaniac was trapped on the same section of the log flume ride but didn’t have to evacuate.

How Disneyland Resort’s management will address these early operational critiques remains to be seen. The attraction officially opens on November 15, 2024.
