In his most recent endeavor, Dwayne Johnson has reclaimed his seasonal title of Dwanta, his holiday alter ego. In partnership with Salt and Straw, a trendy ice cream shop located in Disney Springs, he developed the Dwanta Holiday Ice Cream Cakes. These are Salt and Straw’s very first holiday ice cream cakes. The shop typically features unique flavors, including delicious oddities such as Pear and Blue Cheese, Marionberry Coconut Sherbet, and Strawberry Honey Balsamic w/ Black Pepper.

Even though this is Salt and Straw’s first series of holiday ice cream cakes, it has seen nothing but roaring success. Dwanta’s Holiday Ice Cream Cakes‘ preorders and online sales sold out within the first two weeks of sales. The holiday cakes dropped in stores on November 17, 2023, just in time for Thanksgiving desserts. If this is the first you’re hearing about these cakes, it’s the perfect time to start planning your Christmas desserts.

The Dwanta Holiday Ice Cream Cakes are available in two flavors: Naughty and Nice. The Naughty cake features seven layers showcasing bourbon, chocolate, and peanut butter bliss. This cake includes “coffee-spiked chocolate cake, dark-burned caramel chocolate fudge, whiskey caramel ice cream, peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough, and crunchy chocolate-peanut butter puff topping.” The Nice cake features seven layers, including coconut cake, Oregon marionberry jam, bananas foster ice cream, peanut butter chocolate ganache, and a coconut streusel topping.

Salt and Straw has been a favorite dining location at Disney Springs since its opening in 2022. The Portland, Oregon-based ice cream company started small but has quickly grown thanks to their focus on bold and creative flavors. Their mission has been clear: “Using ice cream as a platform, we pioneer and share experiences that inspire and connect us all.”

Salt and Straw debuts new flavors each month. This month, they showcased a Thanksgiving series featuring flavors including Parker House Rolls with Salted Buttercream, Cheesy Potato Casserole, Turkey Stuffing & Cranberry Sauce, Mom’s Mango Pie, and Pumpkin & Gingersnap Pie. In addition to their specialty flavors, the company also creates delicious dairy-free and vegan flavors. Following the Thanksgiving holiday, new flavors will drop at Salt and Straw this Friday, November 24, 2024.

As a Disney foodie, I love writing about Disney food and snacks. Some of my favorites are the Carrot Cake Cookie from Trolley Car Cafe, the Mickey Beignets from Port Orleans French Quarter, and the Apple Blossom from Port Orleans Riverside. When I'm visiting the parks, you can find me on Main Street taking in the good vibe of Magic Kingdom or relaxing with a drink at the Polynesian watching the fireworks from the beach. As a previous Cast Member, I will always have a special place in my heart for the Magic Kingdom, especially Main Street U.S.A.
