Drug Dealer Arrested After Police Find Stash Hidden in ‘Frozen’ Merchandise

Evansville Police arrested a 25-year-old man late Friday night on drug-related and firearm charges following a routine traffic stop. The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. when officers noticed a gray Dodge Charger driving unusually slow on Line Street, adjacent to a local park.

While this situation may have been a typical one for Police officers, the situation was made peculiar due to the place where he kept his drugs hidden. In a bizarre twist, police found these illegal materials in a Frozen-themed children’s backpack.

Disney Merchandise Becomes Hiding Place for Crime

According to an affidavit, the car’s license plate was obscured, and the plate light was reflecting in such a way that it made the numbers illegible. This raised suspicion, prompting officers to pull the vehicle over. The driver, identified as Marvin Gaye Johnson IV, exited the car despite officers instructing him to stay inside.

During a pat-down, officers discovered a prescription bag full of Oxycodone pills in Johnson’s pocket. When questioned, Johnson claimed the pills belonged to his grandmother and said he had received them from his aunt to deliver to her.

However, police noted that the names on the prescription did not match the names of either Johnson’s grandmother or his aunt, raising further suspicion. Upon further investigation, officers found $520 in cash on Johnson’s person.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found a children’s backpack featuring a character from Disney’s Frozen resting on a toddler’s car seat. Inside the backpack, police uncovered a large bag containing over 20 grams of marijuana. In addition, a metallic tray typically used to handle illegal drugs and a loaded 10mm handgun was discovered inside the car.

Frozen is a popular animated movie produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released in 2013. Set in the fictional kingdom of Arendelle, the story follows two sisters, Elsa and Anna, as they navigate the challenges of Elsa’s magical ability to control ice and snow.

When Elsa accidentally plunges their kingdom into eternal winter, Anna embarks on an adventurous journey, accompanied by an ice harvester named Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven, and a magical snowman named Olaf to bring her sister back and save their home.

Known for its memorable characters, breathtaking animation, and the chart-topping song “Let It Go,” Frozen became a global phenomenon, inspiring sequels, merchandise, and even Broadway adaptations.

Marvin Gaye Johnson IV was arrested at the scene and booked into the local jail without bond. He now faces multiple charges, including Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, and Dealing Marijuana.

The case remains under investigation, but the arrest marks a significant effort by local law enforcement to curb drug-related activities in the area. Police will not easily forget this bizarre Disney-themed drug discovery.
