Located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” offers a completely unique experience to Guests.
It’s Tough to be a Bug! is an incredibly unique attraction based on the iconic Disney and Pixar animated movie, A Bug’s Life. At this show, Guests will be taken on a 3D journey showcasing what it is like being a bug. Located within the Tree of Life on Discovery Island, this interactive theater experience allows visitors to join Flik on a journey like any other.

It’s Tough to Be a Bug Receives Mixed Reactions
While this attraction is absolutely iconic, it is not necessarily loved by all Guests who experience it. For many fans who attend this attraction, they leave feeling traumatized, especially if they are afraid of bugs. As the ride has aged and A Bug’s Life has become less and less relevant, many fans have predicted that this ride may be on its way out of the Parks.
Just last weekend at Disney’s Destination D23 event, it was revealed that Disney had plans to turn this show into a new Zootopia experience. This announcement was met with a lot of mixed reactions from fans.
The show would replace It’s Tough to be a Bug. “The current concept for the new “Zootopia” experience has guests visiting the different biomes you only glimpse in the film, traveling along with Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde and other characters.” More details later. pic.twitter.com/Zmg3hC65XF

Petition to Save “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” Circulates the Internet
A fan named Joey Kette felt so passionate about this announcement that they decided to create a petition to fight against the ride’s imminent closure. The petition is called “Save It’s Tough to be a Bug at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!!!!” and its statement says;
“As of today, it is announced by Josh D’ Amaro and made this horrible rumor saying that the “Zootopia” themed attraction is replacing the only one Pixar attraction. “It’s Tough to be a Bug” is one of my favorite shows and it is the last one on the planet! I also loved the film based on the attraction because the park opened before “A Bug’s Life” came into theaters. Just like how Steven Spielberg doesn’t like how they replace “E.T.” or “Back to the Future the Ride” over in Universal theme parks, “It’s Tough to be a Bug” is one of the first Pixar attractions ever made and made the secondary one over in Disney’s California Adventure until “WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure” takes over and turned “A Bug’s Land” into “Avengers Campus”. But 5 years later, things are getting very worse! After when “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” destroyed “Splash Mountain” in the United States, everything went into turmoil! Disney has gotten so much worse and then they are taking away my childhood! Here’s this heart breaking announcement!”

This is truly one of the most passionate displays over a ride that I have seen in quite a while. While it is unlikely that Disney will rethink this change, it is still possible that Disney may change their mind on these plans.
