Disney World Changes up Theme Park Entry for Guests Moving Forward

Guests arriving at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Tuesday morning encountered a noticeably different scene at the theme park entrance. Here’s everything we know about the latest change at Walt Disney World Resort.

On Wednesday, WDWNT reported that the Orange County Sheriff’s Office vehicle, which had been a fixture outside the main entrance to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, is gone. Three concrete barriers have taken their place, installed in the pedestrian walkway between the parking lot and the Disney Skyliner station that leads guests toward the theme park gates.

The outlet shared a photo of guests navigating the new setup, walking behind the concrete structures on their way into the park — an adjustment that appeared to happen naturally and without confusion. Beyond protecting the pedestrian corridor from vehicle intrusion, the barriers also block unauthorized vehicles from accessing certain nearby parking areas.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t commented publicly on the change or explained its rationale. Whether concrete barriers will be installed at other Walt Disney World theme park entrances — including EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, or the Transportation and Ticket Center — remains unconfirmed, as does whether the removal of the police vehicle is permanent or temporary.

The disappearance of the vehicle at Disney’s Hollywood Studios doesn’t signal a broader pullback of law enforcement from Walt Disney World Resort. Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies continue to be stationed at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Disney Springs, where they assist with traffic management, security, and emergency response.
