Disneyland California Guest Caught Red Handed In “Unauthorized” Activity

One Disneyland Resort guest recently stirred up controversy by engaging in what some Disney Parks fans have called “unauthorized” activity. Reports suggest that this individual posed as a cast member and may have profited from unsuspecting park visitors as a fake Disneyland Resort VIP tour guide.

Unauthorized VIP Tours: A Growing Issue

The incident at Disneyland Resort follows a similar crackdown at Walt Disney World Resort in November 2023. In that case, several Annual Passholders were caught selling unauthorized “VIP Tours,” using their park knowledge to guide tourists through the parks while allegedly bypassing normal wait times.

Those involved in the Florida operation were banned from Walt Disney World Resort property and received no refund for their Annual Passes. “Unauthorized commercial activities are not permitted at Disney World as clearly stated in our property rules,” a Disney spokesperson confirmed at the time.

Caught in the Act at Disneyland Resort

Now, a Reddit user has brought attention to a guest at Disneyland Resort in California who appeared to be offering similar services. According to the Redditor, this individual was dressed in a way that could be mistaken for an official Disneyland cast member’s uniform but was not an authentic costume. The guest reportedly wore a Disney Dress Shop dress resembling the Dapper Dans’ attire, complete with flashy accessories that did not align with Disney cast member appearance guidelines.

“They looked like they worked for Disney, but I have never seen anyone dressed like this before,” Reddit user u/gossipchaser wrote. “She was wearing a light blue striped dress with the big D on it but had a bunch of face gems and a bit over-the-top face bling.”

The Redditor also described the person’s behavior, noting that she was “very loud” and “obviously” leading a group through the park. While there is no confirmation that this guest charged for their services, the appearance of impersonating a Disney cast member to lead a tour would be a clear violation of Disneyland’s property rules.

  1. This was also the same type of passholders who had DAS access and sold “line skipping” access, thus destroying the needed access for others.
