Disneyland Trams Are Finally Back!

It seems like it has been forever, but Disneyland trams have finally made their triumphant return to The Happiest Place on Earth! Disneyland Resort has been open since April 30, 2021, after being closed for 412 days, but the trams were nowhere to be found. Guests visiting Disneyland had to walk from the Mickey & Friends and Pixar parking lots to the Parks, which was about one mile.

After waiting as patiently as possible for months, Disney finally announced that the trams would be returning to Disneyland in early 2022. Guests couldn’t wait for their believed trams to return and begged Disney for a specific date. Then, last month, Disney shared a video of the Head Mouse himself presenting the trams. Mickey then shared that the trams would be back on February 23.

Well, February 23 is here and so are the trams! Guests flocked to Disneyland and couldn’t help but share their excitement on riding their first attraction, which takes them right outside the gates to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Fresh Baked Disney shared a picture just as he got off of the trams in Downtown Disney.

I just ride the Disneyland Tram for the first time in over 2 years. It was magic.

Crimson Rambler was also excited to see the trams return and boarded them with a number of other happy Guests.

They’re Baaaaack! #Disneyland #DisneylandTrams @Disneyland

Wonders of Magic took to Instagram to share their excitement about the trams as they drove by, ready to pick up Guests inside the Pixar parking structure.

The Trams are finally back for guests for pick up and drop off at the Disneyland Resort✨?

After not being available for over two years we finally got them back, no more long walks through the tram route, although we still love walking through Downtown Disney. This is a big help for lots of guests and when your limited on time.

While many were happy that the long walks to and from the Parks has finally come to an end, there were others who didn’t understand why people were celebrating. Twitter user Kristen N. thought that the trams should not have been taken away, especially since Disney has increased the cost for parking while not providing a service that used to be included.

Anyone else look at the Return of the Disneyland Tram celebration and wonder why such a big deal was made over a basic service that is part of a $30 fee

In addition to the trams returning to Disneyland Resort, there were also a number of other exciting announcements. Both the Main Street Electrical Parade and Disneyland Forever fireworks will be making their Park returns on April 22. Fantasmic! will make its return to The Happiest Place on Earth a month later, on May 28.

Are you excited to see the Disneyland trams back?
