A series of August changes is about to affect Disneyland Resort, and guests hoping to see Tinker Bell or ride Haunted Mansion may need to adjust their plans.
Disneyland is preparing to reduce access to Pixie Hollow beginning August 4, which means Tinker Bell won’t be available at her regular meet-and-greet location on select days each week.
Four days later, Disneyland Park will temporarily lose another famous experience.
Haunted Mansion officially closes August 8, beginning the process of transforming the attraction for Halloween Time. It’s one of several current or upcoming closures spread across Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
Tinker Bell Gets a Reduced Schedule Next Week
Tinker Bell’s Pixie Hollow meet-and-greet is about to become less available to Disneyland guests.
Starting August 4, Pixie Hollow will close on Tuesdays and Thursdays through September 5, 2026.
Tinker Bell’s meet-and-greet won’t be available at Pixie Hollow when the location is closed, leaving guests with fewer opportunities to see the character during that period.
The timing matters for anyone visiting right now.
The limited schedule does not begin until August 4. Until then, the upcoming Tuesday and Thursday closures have not taken effect.
After August 4, guests hoping to include Tinker Bell in their Disneyland plans will want to make sure their visit doesn’t fall on one of Pixie Hollow’s closed days.
And that isn’t the only scheduling issue arriving next week.
Haunted Mansion Has Just Days Left
Disneyland’s classic Haunted Mansion will operate through August 7 before closing August 8.
The attraction will remain closed through August 20 while Disneyland completes its transformation into Haunted Mansion Holiday.
The seasonal attraction opens August 21 and features characters and elements inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993).
For guests who prefer the original Haunted Mansion, that creates a clear deadline.
August 7 is the last day to experience the classic version before Haunted Mansion Holiday takes over for Disneyland’s Halloween season.
While the transformation itself is a familiar annual tradition, the closure comes during a period when several other experiences around Disneyland Resort are already unavailable.
Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition Has No Return Date
One of those experiences is Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition.
The Disneyland Park attraction closed July 6, 2026, and its reopening date remains to be determined.
That makes its situation different from Haunted Mansion.
Guests know exactly when Haunted Mansion is scheduled to reopen, even though it will return in its seasonal form. Disneyland has not provided that same certainty for Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition.
As August approaches, the attraction remains part of Disneyland Park’s current closure list.
Main Street Cinema Joins the List August 10
Two days after Haunted Mansion closes, Main Street Cinema will follow.
The Main Street, U.S.A. location is scheduled to close August 10 and remain unavailable through August 27.
That means guests visiting during the middle of August could find several Disneyland Park experiences unavailable during the same trip.
Haunted Mansion will be undergoing its seasonal transformation, Main Street Cinema will be closed, Pixie Hollow will be unavailable on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition could remain closed unless Disneyland announces a reopening date.
The closure situation also extends into Disney California Adventure.
Silly Symphony Swings Remains Unavailable
Silly Symphony Swings has been closed at Disney California Adventure since April 27, 2026.
Disneyland has yet to announce a reopening date.
The attraction’s ongoing closure has already stretched across several months, and it remains unavailable as Disneyland Resort approaches its Halloween season.
Chiller at Paradise Gardens Park is another recent closure.
That location became temporarily unavailable July 26, with its reopening date also listed as TBD.
For guests visiting both Disneyland Resort parks, that creates a larger collection of unavailable experiences than the Haunted Mansion closure alone might suggest.
Construction Closes Avengers Campus Pathway
Guests traveling around Disney California Adventure will also encounter a change near Avengers Campus.
The pathway connecting Avengers Campus and Cars Land is currently closed for expansion work.
Guests can continue reaching both areas through alternate routes, including the Performance Corridor.
It’s not a traditional attraction refurbishment, but the closure could affect how guests plan their route through Disney California Adventure.
August Brings Several Changes Across Disneyland
The changes begin stacking up quickly once August arrives.
Starting August 4, Pixie Hollow will close every Tuesday and Thursday through September 5, limiting when guests can meet Tinker Bell at the location.
Four days later, Haunted Mansion closes.
Main Street Cinema follows August 10, while Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition and Silly Symphony Swings remain unavailable without announced reopening dates. Chiller at Paradise Gardens Park is temporarily unavailable as well, and expansion construction continues to affect the route between Avengers Campus and Cars Land.
For guests particularly interested in Haunted Mansion, August 7 is the date to remember.
That’s the final day Disneyland plans to operate the traditional version before closing it for the seasonal changeover. Haunted Mansion Holiday will then open August 21, bringing Jack Skellington back to Disneyland as Halloween Time gets underway.
