Disneyland Park guests who want to visit Tinker Bell at Pixie Hollow have just over a week to make it happen, because the beloved Fantasyland character experience is closing on August 4 with no confirmed return date on the calendar.
The Closure Confirmed Quietly
Disneyland Resort updated the official Pixie Hollow webpage on July 27 to reflect the upcoming closure, with no accompanying announcement or explanation. The Tinker Bell meet-and-greet will continue operating through August 3 on its normal daily schedule — 8:15 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. — before closing for refurbishment the following day.
The Disneyland Resort operational calendar currently runs through September 7, and no reopening date has been listed for the Pixie Hollow meet-and-greet during that window. Disney has not said what the refurbishment entails, how long it will last, or whether Tinker Bell will be available at a temporary meet-and-greet location while Fantasyland is closed. The area is located between the Matterhorn Bobsleds and Astro Orbiter, nestled near Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Guests hoping to meet Tinker Bell during an upcoming Southern California Disney parks visit should monitor the Disneyland Resort app for character availability updates or ask a character attendant on the day of their visit.
Fresh off a Major Reimagining
The timing is notable, given that Pixie Hollow underwent a significant transformation less than two years ago.
The meet-and-greet space was closed for nine months during 2024 and into 2025, during which time Disneyland Resort converted a second nearby area — previously used for meet-and-greets with Tinker Bell’s fairy friends — into an extended queue for the main Tinker Bell encounter. Those other fairy characters have not appeared at Pixie Hollow since.
Is the Disney+ Series the Connection?
One possible explanation floating around Disney fan circles is the upcoming Disney+ series, Tink, a live-action drama centered on the iconic character, currently in development with no announced premiere date. Whether Pixie Hollow’s August closure is connected to that project in any way — a retheme, a refreshed look, a promotional tie-in — hasn’t been confirmed or denied by Disneyland Resort.
