Disneyland Resort is where dreams come to life, and imagination knows no bounds. However, some guests surly know how to ruin the day by sneaking prohibited items into the parks.
Disneyland is known for being “The Happiest Place on Earth” and fan-favorite characters, and exciting attractions. Since its grand opening in 1955, Disneyland has captivated the hearts and minds of millions.
From the moment Disneyland Resort guests step foot through the gates, they are transported to a realm of fantasy and adventure, where every corner holds a new delight waiting to be discovered. Disneyland is home to two parks Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.
While Disneyland tries to keep the magic and mystique of Disneyland parks, some guests try to sneak prohibited items into the park. While Disneyland has strict rules and regulations in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests, some guests have been known to disregard these guidelines in pursuit of their own unique experiences.
One of the most peculiar instances of this behavior involves the smuggling of cremated human ashes into the park. Despite Disneyland’s explicit policy prohibiting the spreading of ashes on park grounds, there have been numerous reports of guests attempting to bypass this rule by discreetly scattering the ashes of loved ones in various locations throughout the park. From flower beds to ride queues to the iconic Haunted Mansion, no corner of Disneyland is immune to this dreadful practice.
Sadly, Haunted Mansion is not the only attraction that has been hit with guests sneaking ashes onto an attraction. In a Reddit Thread, guests took a photo of the floor in the popular attraction Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
“Had to clean some ashes today. I know it’s some people’s dying wish to be laid to rest on there favorite attractions but the fact of the matter is they are ravished and dragged by the vehicles and ultimately cleaned and thrown out with the trash to end up who knows where.”
Guests bringing ashes to a theme park may seem odd. However, some bring it due to a desire to fulfill the final wishes of deceased loved ones to a belief in the spiritual significance of having one’s ashes scattered in a place of such profound meaning and significance.
The scattering of ashes in public spaces poses potential health and safety risks to both guests and cast members alike. Human remains contain various organic materials and contaminants that can pose a hazard to the environment and public health if not handled properly.
Disneyland has taken proactive measures to address the issue and deter guests from sneaking prohibited items into the park. In addition to enforcing strict security protocols and conducting bag checks at park entrances, Disneyland has also increased surveillance and implemented new technologies to detect and deter unauthorized behavior.
