Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour returns August 21, 2026, taking guests through Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure for an approximately two-hour nighttime experience.
And for visitors who would rather spend less of their evening standing around waiting, some of the tour’s included benefits could prove particularly useful.
Disneyland Brings Back Happiest Haunts
Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour focuses on the stories and history surrounding Halloween at Disneyland Resort.
A guide leads participants through both theme parks while sharing Halloween history and Disney-inspired stories along the way. Instead of simply walking around and admiring the seasonal decorations on their own, guests get a more structured look at how Disney celebrates the spooky season.
Because the experience happens at night, participants also get to see Disneyland Resort after the sun goes down, when Halloween decorations and nighttime entertainment help give the parks a completely different feel.
The tour itself lasts around two hours, but Disney has added several extras to the experience.
Haunted Mansion Holiday Comes With a Major Perk
Haunted Mansion Holiday is naturally a big part of Halloween at Disneyland, and Happiest Haunts participants receive Lightning Lane entry to the attraction.
The seasonal overlay combines Haunted Mansion with The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), bringing Jack Skellington and other familiar characters into the classic attraction.
Instead of relying on the regular standby queue, tour participants can use the included Lightning Lane entry.
Guests also receive reserved viewing for Halloween Screams, Disneyland’s Halloween nighttime spectacular.

Happiest Haunts officially returns August 21, but guests can make their reservations beginning July 30, 2026.
Availability is limited, and the tour can sell out.
That could make July 30 an important date for guests who already have their Disneyland Halloween trips booked and know they want to participate.
The experience will join a larger Halloween lineup that also includes Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure. While Oogie Boogie Bash offers a separately ticketed Halloween party, Happiest Haunts provides a smaller guided experience built around storytelling and included perks.
