Disney’s Popular Halloween Event Just Got a Schedule Change Worth Knowing About

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the kind of Walt Disney World event that rewards planning and punishes guests who show up without a strategy. The entertainment runs throughout the park, crowds build quickly around the most popular offerings, and for families with young children, the window between an incredible Halloween night and a completely overwhelmed one is narrower than most parents expect the first time they attend.

This year, Disney made a scheduling decision that specifically addresses the families who have been working around that challenge for years. If you have party tickets or are thinking about buying them, this is worth reading before you finalize your plans.

The Parade Change That Matters Most This Halloween

Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade is the anchor of the entire event for most guests. Mickey, Minnie, and the rest of the crew show up in Halloween costumes alongside waltzing ghosts, Disney Princesses, and a villain lineup that gives the parade an energy the standard Magic Kingdom offerings simply do not match. Rare character appearances, including Pain and Panic and Vanellope, make it must-see entertainment for dedicated Disney fans, and the parade soundtrack is the kind of earworm that follows guests home and somehow feels welcome every time it surfaces.

The parade runs twice each party night. The second showing is locked in for 11:15 p.m., the traditional late-night slot that works well for guests who want thinner crowds along the route and do not mind the late hour.

The first showing is confirmed at 8:15 p.m. Disney shifted the first parade to a sunset window back in 2024 specifically to give younger guests a chance to experience the full Boo-To-You Parade before the night gets too late, and that earlier time returns for 2026. For families with kids who are not built for midnight theme park experiences, the 8:15 p.m. showing is a genuine game-changer. The tradeoff is crowds. The earlier showing draws more people precisely because it is the accessible option, so securing a viewing spot along the route well before showtime is a smart move. The parade kicks off in Frontierland and travels down Main Street, U.S.A., and guests wanting to catch the pre-parade Max and the Powerline Party Pack need to be positioned on Main Street, U.S.A. specifically.

The Fireworks and Everything Else

Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks show is confirmed for 10:00 p.m. and runs once per night. The show wraps Cinderella Castle in projections while Jack Skellington dominates the forecourt stage, making the hub area directly in front of the castle the best viewing spot and also the most crowded. Getting there early is not optional if a clear view matters to you.

The rest of the party entertainment lineup has not yet had official showtimes confirmed. The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stage show is expected to return, along with Masquerade with Stitch, the Disney Jr. Jam Dance Party, Halloween in Storybook Circus, the Cadaver Dans, and the Rusty Cutlass Pirate Band. Disney is expected to release official showtimes for those offerings ahead of the party’s August start date.

The Basics Worth Knowing for This Halloween

Guests with party tickets can enter Magic Kingdom starting at 4:00 p.m. on party nights, giving them up to 8 hours inside the park before the event closes. Ticket prices range from $119 to $229, depending on the date, with the most popular nights at the top of that range. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members receive a ten-dollar discount on ticket purchases.

For families with young children, the 8:15 p.m. Boo-To-You Parade combined with an early entry at 4:00 p.m. creates a workable evening that hits the highlights without requiring anyone to be vertical past midnight. That combination has always been theoretically possible, but with the earlier parade time now confirmed for 2026, it is genuinely the most family-friendly version of this event Disney has offered.

Plan around the parade first. Everything else falls into place from there.
