The Walt Disney Company has been celebrating 100 years of creating magic throughout the year. The celebration has brought new touches to the Disney Parks and Disney merchandise, but now those at home can also enjoy the celebration.
New Disney100 Special Announced
ABC News Studios announced a new special, Disney 100: A Century of Dreams- A Special Edition of 20/20.
The special event will take viewers on a journey from 1923 to the present day, focusing on the magic that The Walt Disney Company has created throughout the 100 years. The show will air on Thursday, December 14, on ABC from 9:02-11:00 p.m. EST. It will also stream the next day on Hulu and December 29 on Disney+.
The documentary will look at the creation of Mickey Mouse and other essential characters throughout the century of creating magic.
The special will also include interviews with Disney icons such as Disney CEO Bob Iger, beloved Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke from Mary Poppins (1964), and even Walt Disney’s grandsons Chris Miller and Walter Miller.
Top musical legends such as singer/songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda, Idina Menzel, Jodi Benson, and Ariana DeBose will be featured in the documentary as they discuss the influential role that music has played throughout the years in Disney’s storytelling and magic creation.
During the two-hour documentary, guests will also be given an inside look at an all-new Disney attraction.

Those traveling to Walt Disney World can celebrate this monumental anniversary with limited-time offerings through December 31, 2023. These include exceptional photo opportunities with Mickey and Minie in EPCOT in their Disney100 outfits and a special Disney100 display on Spaceship Earth.
In Disneyland, guests can celebrate 100 years of magic with new magical decor throughout the park and a special Disney100 exhibit. The Disney Gallery Presents: Disney 100 Years of Wonder focuses on Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park attractions based on Disney films and original attractions that have inspired Disney films.
