Walt Disney World Resort recently issued an apology to Guests following the decision to close down a popular attraction.
If you’re visiting Walt Disney World Resort, you know that there are plenty of attractions and entertainment offerings to enjoy at Magic Kingdom Park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Millions of Disney World Guests enjoy attractions at the theme parks and, as a result, there are times when a ride or show must close down for scheduled maintenance. Other times, attractions are closed unexpectedly and may be down for extended periods of time, depending on what must be done to get them back up and running. No matter the case, closures can be inconvenient for Disney World Guests, but they are certainly understandable.
Though Disney’s Hollywood Studios has plenty of fun and iconic attractions to enjoy, like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, and Slinky Dog Dash, there are many Disney Park fans who call the theme park a “half-day theme park.” Even with shows like Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Beauty and the Beast Live On Stage, many Guests only budget a few hours in the theme park.
This is especially true when a popular attraction closes down.
If you’re planning to be in Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 1 or May 2, you should know that there is scheduled maintenance taking place on the epic nighttime spectacular Fantasmic!
The show will not have performances on either of these nights, and Disney recently issued an apology for the inconvenience.
“On behalf of the entire team at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I apologize there will be no performance of Fantasmic! tonight,” Jackie Swisher, Vice President of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, said. “We are sorry you are not able to experience the show today. I hope you will enjoy some of our other entertainment offerings during your time with us in the Park.”
The good news is that the show will return with two performances on Wednesday, May 3, one at 9:00 p.m. and one at 10:30 p.m.
The show will have two performances some nights during the month of May, and other nights it will be back down to just one performance, at 9:00 p.m. You’ll have to check the Disney Entertainment Schedule or the My Disney Experience app for the latest surrounding the nighttime spectacular.
The Fantasmic! amphitheater curves around the lagoon, so wherever you’re seated, you’re perfectly situated to experience the action. Guests sitting in the first few rows may get wet during the performance. Please have your entire party together before entering the amphitheater. You may arrive as early as 90 minutes prior to each show. Be sure to arrive early to get a seat!
Since this is an outdoor show, it is also subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. Showtimes are subject to change.
The Fantasmic! show at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, CA, remains closed as construction has overtaken the area due to a fire that broke out during the show last weekend. For now, Disney has not announced an official date for its return.
