Disney World Teasing Major Update For Haunted Mansion

Walt Disney World Resort is about to change a major facet of one of its most iconic attractions.

“The Most Magical Place on Earth” is home to four theme parks, including Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT, but none are more iconic than Magic Kingdom Park. Home to Cinderella Castle and Main Street, U.S.A., the Disney Park gives Guests the chance to explore many magical lands, including Fantasyland, Liberty Square, Frontierland, Tomorrowland, and Adventureland.

While there are rumors that Frontierland could see a major overhaul with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure taking over the place where Splash Mountain used to be and TRON Lightcycle / Run just opened in Tomorrowland, the truth is that Magic Kingdom prides itself on its classic and timeless attractions. Peter Pan’s Flight, “it’s a small world”, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Space Mountain are attractions that have been around in the theme park for decades. Even though many Disney Adults have ridden these attractions hundreds of times, they still feel as fresh and exciting as they did the first time they rode them.

Perhaps the most iconic attraction in Walt Disney World Resort is none other than Haunted Mansion. The Haunted Mansion takes Disney World Guests on a journey they won’t soon forget, as the disembodied voice of the Ghost Host serves as your private guide through the cadaverous realm of an eerie haunted estate, home to ghosts, ghouls, and supernatural surprises.

Now, it seems that Disney has a major update in store for the attraction that Guests are going to be happy with.

WDWMagic reported that Disney is currently in the process of expanding the Lightning Lane entry process for Haunted Mansion. If you’ve visited the attraction in the past, you know that there are times where the Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane can get backed up due to capacity restraints, especially at the entry point where you scan your MagicBand, Park Ticket, or Smart Device to get into the Lightning Lane.

These expanded entry lane points will allow Guests to get into the Lightning Lane more quickly, which will reduce crowding at the entrance of the attraction. This is good news all around, as it will limit crowding for both those who are using Disney Genie+ reservations and those who are trying to get into the standby line queue.

The iconic Magic Kingdom attraction is located in Liberty Square, and there is no height requirement to ride. Keep in mind that there are some scenes that may be considered frightening for some, however.
