Disney World Removes Barriers, Reveals Replacement at ‘Tangled’ Location
Walt Disney World has officially completed another project at Magic Kingdom, bringing a familiar Fantasyland feature back to life after months of visible wear.
While Disney continues working on major expansions and attraction updates throughout the park, smaller changes are also taking place in areas guests visit every day.
One popular location inspired by Tangled (2010) recently underwent another refurbishment, with temporary barriers appearing around a colorful feature that had started showing its age.

Now, the work is complete, and Disney has revealed the finished results.
However, rather than introducing an entirely different design, the company has restored a familiar piece of Fantasyland with fresh colors and updated paint.
Disney World Completes Work on Popular ‘Tangled’ Location
Magic Kingdom’s Tangled-themed restroom area has officially received a refreshed exterior mural, replacing the faded paint that had become noticeable in recent months.
According to WDW News Today, the completed artwork was visible on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, following a short refurbishment project.
Located in Fantasyland near Peter Pan’s Flight and It’s a Small World, the restroom area has become a recognizable destination for Disney fans.
Despite being primarily a restroom facility, the location features elaborate decorations inspired by Rapunzel’s kingdom, including lanterns, themed architecture, and colorful artwork.
The latest refurbishment focused on a mural that begins above the restroom entrance, stretches down the exterior wall, and continues onto the pavement.
Disney restored the artwork using bright shades of pink, purple, lavender, and gold. Floral patterns and sun designs once again stand out throughout the area.
Although the refreshed paint replaces the faded colors, the original mural design remains intact.
Disney Removes Temporary Barriers Following Refurbishment
The project follows several months of noticeable changes to the artwork.
During August and September, portions of the mural appeared faded, particularly around the entrance archway.
The artwork extending onto the concrete had also developed visible scuff marks and discoloration.
Earlier in October, Disney placed large rolling planters around the area while crews worked on the mural.
The planters created a temporary barrier around the artwork without preventing guests from accessing the restrooms.
Those barriers have since been removed, allowing visitors to see the completed project.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Disney has refreshed the location recently.
The mural previously received a similar update in June 2025, meaning the latest work comes approximately 16 months after its last restoration.

Florida’s sunshine, frequent rain, and constant guest traffic can take a toll on outdoor decorations, particularly artwork painted directly onto walkways.
Regular maintenance helps Disney preserve these details without changing the appearance of the surrounding land.
Magic Kingdom Continues Making Changes Across the Park
The completed Tangled project comes during a period of significant changes throughout Magic Kingdom.
Disney continues preparing for major additions in Frontierland, where the former Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island areas are being transformed for future development.
Other sections of the park are also undergoing refurbishment projects as Disney maintains existing attractions and themed environments.
Although the Tangled mural doesn’t involve a new ride or major expansion, its restoration represents another completed improvement for Fantasyland.
For guests planning upcoming visits, the familiar artwork is once again fully visible without construction barriers.
The restroom facilities remain available, and Disney hasn’t announced any additional changes to the location.
Ultimately, the refurbishment preserves one of Fantasyland’s more unusual themed spaces.
What could have been an ordinary restroom area continues to serve as a detailed tribute to Tangled (2010), complete with the colorful designs that have made it a popular stop for Disney visitors.
And with the latest work finished, guests can once again appreciate the artwork in its refreshed condition.
