Disney World Closes Yacht Club Resort Entrance Used by EPCOT Guests

One of the biggest advantages of staying at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is being able to walk back from EPCOT rather than waiting for other transportation.

For the time being, however, that walk may end with an unexpected detour.

Disney has closed the back lobby entrance at Yacht Club as refurbishment work expands around the resort. Nearby outdoor walkways are also unavailable, changing a route frequently used by guests traveling between the hotel and Disney World’s theme parks.

EPCOT Guests Will Find Their Usual Entrance Closed

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort sits in one of the most walkable areas of Walt Disney World.

Guests can walk between the resort and EPCOT, while Disney’s Hollywood Studios is also accessible on foot. Yacht Club’s proximity to Beach Club and the Disney BoardWalk gives visitors even more places to reach without relying entirely on buses.

That convenience hasn’t disappeared, but ongoing construction has changed part of the journey.

According to recent reports from AllEars, construction walls have been installed around Yacht Club’s back lobby entrance from the park-side walking path. The entrance is completely closed, and extensive scaffolding has appeared around that section of the building.

Disney has also closed outdoor walkways near the affected area.

Yacht Club Remains Open

Despite the blocked entrance, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort hasn’t closed.

Guests approaching from the parks can instead enter through Disney’s Beach Club Resort. They can also travel farther around the construction area toward the leisure pool or wedding gazebo.

The lobby remains open throughout the work.

For returning visitors who know Yacht Club well, the temporary changes could initially be confusing. Following Disney’s posted signage will be important, especially when walking back from EPCOT after a long park day.

Construction Isn’t Ending Yet

The changes are part of a larger refurbishment that has been underway at Yacht and Beach Club since 2025.

Yacht Club’s routine exterior refurbishment is expected to continue through late 2026. Meanwhile, exterior maintenance at Beach Club is scheduled to stretch into 2027.

Guests worried about noise during their stay can request a quieter room away from the construction area when checking in.

Yacht Club remains open and its walkability remains a major benefit, but guests heading there from EPCOT should know that a familiar entrance and nearby pathways are currently off-limits.
