Disney Finally Reveals What’s Next for Closed Yacht Club Resort

Guests staying at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort this summer have had one noticeable dining option missing from the lineup.

Since May, Yachtsman Steakhouse has sat behind construction walls while crews worked on a refurbishment that Disney said would last through the summer months. Beyond that timeline, however, the company shared very few details, leaving many fans wondering exactly when the signature restaurant would return.

Now, Disney has finally provided its biggest update yet.

Without making a formal announcement, Walt Disney World has quietly added operating hours and dining reservations for Yachtsman Steakhouse beginning August 28, 2026. While Disney has not officially confirmed that as reopening day, it’s a strong indication the restaurant is preparing to welcome guests back before the end of summer.

A Long Wait Is Nearly Over

Yachtsman Steakhouse officially closed on May 11, 2026, as part of an extensive refurbishment project.

Disney initially told guests only that the restaurant would reopen sometime in August. Since then, there have been few public updates, and construction has continued behind closed doors.

The addition of reservations beginning August 28 marks the first meaningful sign that the project is nearing completion.

For guests planning vacations later this summer or throughout the fall, the update means one of Walt Disney World’s most popular resort restaurants could once again be available during their trip.

One of Disney’s Signature Dining Experiences

Located inside Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Yachtsman Steakhouse has built a reputation as one of the destination’s premier table-service restaurants.

The restaurant specializes in premium steaks, fresh seafood, and an extensive wine list inside a dining room inspired by New England yacht clubs. While many guests visit the nearby parks, Yachtsman has long attracted diners willing to travel to the resort specifically for dinner.

Its location also makes it a popular choice for guests staying at Yacht Club, Beach Club, BoardWalk Inn, and the nearby EPCOT resort area.

With reservations now appearing once again, demand could be strong as returning guests look to experience the refreshed restaurant.

Disney Isn’t Saying Much

Although the reopening appears close, Disney has remained quiet about what actually changed during the refurbishment.

No concept art has been released, and the company hasn’t revealed whether guests should expect a redesigned dining room, updated décor, or changes to the menu.

That has fueled plenty of speculation among Disney fans.

Many of Walt Disney World’s recent restaurant projects have focused on modernizing interiors while preserving each location’s identity. Updated flooring, refreshed seating, new lighting, and subtle design changes have become common during these types of refurbishments.

Whether Yachtsman Steakhouse follows that same formula won’t be known until guests begin sharing photos after it reopens.

Yacht Club’s Dining Lineup Is Almost Complete Again

Yachtsman Steakhouse wasn’t the only dining location affected by construction at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort this year.

Crew’s Cup Lounge, located next door, also temporarily closed for its own refurbishment before reopening in May. With that project already finished and Yachtsman now appearing ready to return, Disney is nearing the end of a busy period of improvements at the resort.

For guests planning late August vacations, the timing couldn’t be much better.

If Disney stays on schedule, visitors arriving during the final days of summer may once again have the opportunity to enjoy one of Walt Disney World’s signature steakhouses after months of waiting.

While Disney has yet to formally announce the reopening, reservations are now available, offering the clearest indication yet that Yachtsman Steakhouse is almost ready to serve guests once again.
