Disney World Announces Limited-Time Return at Animal Kingdom This November

Walt Disney World is making an exciting change at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and guests visiting in November will have something extra to look forward to.

Although Animal Kingdom is known for its incredible attractions, animal encounters, and immersive lands, nighttime entertainment has always been a little more limited compared to Disney’s other theme parks.

That’s especially true during the summer months, when the park often closes before it gets dark enough for certain experiences.

However, with the holiday season approaching, Disney is preparing to bring back an offering that many guests haven’t had the chance to enjoy in quite some time.

The experience will only be available on select evenings, meaning visitors will need to plan accordingly if they want to see it.

Animal Kingdom Is Bringing Back a Fan-Favorite Nighttime Experience

Tree of Life Awakenings is officially returning to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in early November.

The nighttime projection experience transforms the park’s massive Tree of Life into a colorful display featuring animated imagery, lighting effects, and music.

While the Tree of Life is impressive during the day, the nighttime presentation gives guests an entirely different way to appreciate the park’s iconic centerpiece.

According to WDW News Today, Disney has scheduled performances for November 1, 2, 5, 6, and 7.

On November 1 and 7, guests can experience the show between 6:10 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Meanwhile, the November 2, 5, and 6 performances will run from 6:10 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Rather than offering one lengthy presentation, Disney typically runs the projections approximately every 10 minutes.

This makes it easier for guests to catch the experience without having to rearrange their entire park itinerary.

However, there is a reason Disney hasn’t offered the show consistently throughout the year.

Earlier Sunsets Make the Return Possible

Animal Kingdom’s operating hours play a major role in determining when Tree of Life Awakenings can take place.

Unlike Magic Kingdom, which regularly welcomes visitors late into the evening, Animal Kingdom frequently closes earlier.

During periods with longer daylight hours, the park can close before conditions are dark enough for the projections to work properly.

That changes when daylight saving time ends on November 1.

With sunsets arriving earlier, Disney has a better opportunity to offer the nighttime experience while the park is still open.

For guests visiting during the first week of November, this creates a chance to see something that isn’t always available during a typical Animal Kingdom visit.

It also arrives just before Disney World’s holiday celebrations officially begin.

Could a Christmas Version Be Next?

Walt Disney World will celebrate the holiday season from November 13, 2026, through January 6, 2027.

During previous Christmas celebrations, Animal Kingdom has featured Tree of Life Awakenings Holiday Edition, a seasonal version of the projection show.

Instead of the regular presentation, the holiday offering transforms the Tree of Life with festive imagery designed to celebrate the season.

It’s a particularly fitting experience for Animal Kingdom, which doesn’t offer the same traditional nighttime fireworks entertainment found at other Disney parks.

However, Disney hasn’t released official performance times for the holiday edition.

Although its return seems possible with Christmas celebrations approaching, guests shouldn’t consider it confirmed until Disney updates its entertainment schedule.

For now, the regular Tree of Life Awakenings experience is the one visitors can plan around.

What This Means for November Visitors

The return of Tree of Life Awakenings gives guests another reason to spend their final park hours around Discovery Island.

Instead of leaving immediately after their last attraction, visitors can enjoy the Tree of Life illuminated with projections before heading toward the exit.

Still, Disney has only confirmed a limited number of performances, and additional dates haven’t been announced.

Anyone hoping to see the show should check the official Walt Disney World calendar before visiting.

With the Christmas season approaching, Animal Kingdom’s nighttime atmosphere could become an even bigger part of the guest experience in the weeks ahead.
