“Welcome home!” If you’re already a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member, you know the perks of discounts, special events, and member lounges are just as important as the ability to stay at a variety of stunning resorts around the globe. Well, new DVC owners will want to take note that these perks will not be available to you if you don’t purchase a minimum of 125-points. Effective immediately, DVC has increased the number of direct-purchase points an owner must buy to be eligible for membership perks.
As shared by DVCNews: The DVC members-only website has been updated to reflect a minimum 125-point ownership to access most member perks. The new disclaimer added to the site reads: Effective October 19, 2020, to obtain a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, Members must accumulate a total of at least 125 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc.
“The restriction was first introduced back in April 2016, at which time any amount of points purchased direct from DVC would make the member eligible for owner perks. In February 2018 a minimum of 75 points was added, and later increased to 100 points in September 2019. Rumors of the 125 point minimum first surfaced in August. The new threshold goes into effect today without any formal advance notice.”
