Disney+ Is Trending With Changes Ahead

Disney+ is a popular subscription-based streaming service owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company, and it is known for offering a vast library of movies and TV shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic, making it a go-to platform for fans of these franchises.

However, that doesn’t mean it hasn’t faced its fair share of challenges. Currently, there is a big online movement called “Cancel Disney+.” For several reasons, people and streamers are upset with the streaming service.

In messages on social media, it has been revealed that many Disney+ subscribers are “over” Disney changing older movies and shows. For those who don’t know, Disney has been changing some of these older shows and films due to some old things that are not okay today, like how they depict certain races or people. However, some believe Disney is going too far by changing or warning about these things.

Another reason why “Cancel Disney+” is trending is due to how the reported handling of money and subscriptions now. Disney is now asking subscribers to pay extra money to watch some new movies on Disney+ even if they have already paid for the service. This made some subscribers feel like Disney was being greedy. And Disney also raised the price for Disney+, which upset some people. Plus, Disney+ now features ads unless you are paying extra to have them removed.

While Disney+ is just another streaming service trying to succeed, such as Netflix, Amazon, HBO, and several others, Disney+ was a family-friendly choice with most of Disney’s greatest and worst masterpieces. Since Disney+ is now trying to stay ahead of the streaming service game, Disney wants to make sure people stay happy with their service. But it also meant people had many options for where to watch shows and movies.

While changes have certainly not been welcomed, that doesn’t mean that everything is bad for the streaming platform.

Its extensive library of content spans nearly a century. In addition, subscribers have access to classic Disney animated films, beloved Pixar movies, iconic Star Wars sagas, thrilling Marvel superhero adventures, and engaging National Geographic documentaries. This diverse selection ensures something for everyone, from young children to adults.

Disney + offers multiple user profiles within a single subscription. This feature allows family members to have their own customized watchlists, recommendations, and viewing history. With multiple user profiles, children under a certain age can have a child profile, which filters out content that may be over their age range. This is a neat feature that allows parents to feel like they can trust what their children will be exposed to.

While pricing may have increased since its launch, many subscribers still find Disney+ to be reasonably priced compared to other streaming services, and Disney also offers bundle options that include Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ for added value, especially with Hulu and Disney+ now becoming one app.

What are your thoughts? Do the positives outweigh the negatives of the “cancel Disney+” movement?
