Walt Disney World is known for its clean theme parks, however, accidents happen from time to time.
Walt Disney World Resort is known as “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” seeing thousands of guests daily. With this amount of traffic, Disney World parks tend to need updates and refurbishments. Disney World is home to four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and EPCOT. Each Disney park has different attractions, shows, and activities guests can experience at the different Disney parks.
With Walt Disney Resort guests heading to the parks, accidents happen from time to time. Some accidents include spilling drinks and dropping trash; however, guests bringing smaller children understand the real accidents that can happen while waiting in lines. Children tend never to need to go to the bathroom until it is too late or not the perfect timing.
While Disney Dining has reported on drunken guests using the bathroom in the bushes. Children also have been seen just going when the moment hits them. In a social media post, Disney guests talk about hearing that attractions have been shut down due to accidents.
“I feel like I’ve read 2 or 3 stories in the last week about kids using the bathroom in/on rides or ride queues. Is it really this common? We talking once a day per park? Once a week?”
This post talks about how children have been caught using the bathroom at different attractions, forcing them to close down due to the accident.
One Disney guest at DinoLand, U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom saw a child using the bathroom in the sand area like a cat litter box. This caused the whole attraction to be cleared out.
“I was there last month and the sand excavation play area in Dinoland at Animal Kingdom got cleared out because a kid dropped a load in the sand like it was a litter tray.”
A former Disney Cast Member recalls an accident that happened with a guest’s service animal at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While sitting, the animal decided it was the perfect time for a bathroom break. This accident caused the show to be delayed while it was cleaned up. Also, this Cast Member said they remember shutting down the Boneyard due to children sliding down the slide with poo on it.
“I used to work in DAK at the Nemo show and the Boneyard, and at Epcot at Sum of All Thrills. Nemo never shut down for human poop when I was there. We did have to station a CM outside the exit doors because during shows families would try to let their kids go in the bushes outside so they wouldn’t miss the show but there was a bathroom literally 25 yards away. We did have to delay show load once because a service animal took a big sh*t at the top of the auditorium and the smell was horrendous.”
“Boneyard we had to shut down a slide a few times in the year I worked there for kids basically sliding down in poo.
“Sum I never had a poop issue but we had lots of pukes and one issue where a scab opened up and flung blood all over the enclosure”
While these horror stories sound scary, accidents like this at Disney are very rare. When an accident at Disney World happens, Disney Cast Members and the Disney custodial team will be there as soon as possible to clean up the mess.
