This summer, guests at Disney California Adventure Park were treated to a massive new addition in the form of San Fransokyo Square. This new land, themed after the iconic film Big Hero 6, brings a new and international flair to the theme park. Pulling influences from San Fransisco, California, and Toyko, Japan, this new land offers exciting landmarks, character interactions, retail, and dining experiences.
Now, as the land’s construction nears completion, a final element has been added that is truly spectacular.
New Signage Makes Land Feel Complete
This is just in! A massive new sign has just been installed within the area of San Fransokyo Square. The “Port of San Fransokyo” waterfront marquee is an impressive sight to behold now that it has been added to the waterfront’s edge. This magnificent structure serves as one of the key visual attractions in the newly constructed San Fransokyo Square, which is situated within the enchanting realm of Disney California Adventure Park.
As visitors approach San Fransokyo Square, their eyes are now immediately drawn to the grandeur and artistry of the “Port of San Fransokyo” marquee. This new landmark captures the essence of the fusion between the bustling metropolis of San Francisco and the futuristic charm of Tokyo while also paying homage to the land’s predecessor, the Pacific Wharf.
Beyond its visual splendor, the “Port of San Fransokyo” waterfront marquee also serves as a gateway to a world of adventure and imagination. As guests pass through its inviting archways, they are transported into the lively streets of San Fransokyo Square, brimming with excitement and the spirit of exploration.
This dynamic square pulsates with energy as guests immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of this vibrant neighborhood. From the mouthwatering aromas emanating from the diverse range of neighborhood restaurants to the joyful laughter of children exploring the whimsical corners of the square, San Fransokyo Square offers something for everyone.
An Imaginative New Area Comes Slightly Behind Schedule
This newly established district within Disney California Adventure Park is a testament to Disney’s commitment to providing guests with unforgettable experiences. The integration of the “Port of San Fransokyo” waterfront marquee within San Fransokyo Square creates a captivating atmosphere that transports visitors into an imaginative world where the traditional and the contemporary exist in perfect harmony.
This area is truly a great addition to this park, even if its completion is coming slightly behind schedule. The area’s original completion date was set to be in August, but it took Walt Disney Imagineering slightly longer to complete the vision.
