Disney Parade CANCELLED in Light of Another Cast Member Strike

The Walt Disney Company is not out of the woods yet…

Disney has been in hot water for various reasons this year. The drama inside and outside the Parks has made the world pay attention to the Walt Disney Company’s personal and political affairs. One of the main stories of the year was the Cast Member protests.

Earlier this year, a major protest broke out among Cast Members working at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. These Cast Members were protesting the bad wages the company was paying them, despite doing lots of work. The job of a Cast Member at one of the Disney Parks is incredibly strenuous, and they deserve to be paid an appropriate and liveable wage.

After months of negotiations, the Walt Disney Company and the Cast Member Union finally settled their issues when then company awarded their employees better wages and benefits.

However, while the turmoil may be over in the United States, the problem is just beginning in Parks overseas.

The strike caused significant problems for Disneyland Paris, which had to cancel both the afternoon parade and the nighttime Disney Stars on Parade. The parade is one of the most popular attractions in the area, with beautiful floats and characters marching down Main Street, U.S.A., culminating in the Sleeping Beauty Castle.

For many Guests, the parade is a highlight of their visit to Disneyland Paris, and others feel that it is the most magical thing about the Park.
