A dose of the Florida Keys is nestled beautifully at Walt Disney World Resort. Quiet, peaceful, and one of our personal favorite Disney Resorts, Disney’s Old Key West is celebrating its 30th Birthday!
On December 20, 1991, Disney opened its first Disney Vacation Club Resort with the name of “Disney Vacation Club Resort”. It wasn’t until 1996 when Disney renamed the Resort “Disney’s Old Key West”. Now, 30 years later, the Resort is open to Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Resorts Guests using points to stay, or any Guest interested in purchasing a Resort room.

As a personal favorite, we call Disney’s Old Key West a Home Resort for our DVC Membership and have enjoyed numerous stays at this flip-flop and drink-in-hand type of Resort. Just minutes to Disney Springs with a boat or bus ride, Disney’s Old Key West is right in all the action but offers a true getaway vacation feel.
Walt Disney World Cast and Community took to Facebook as Cast Members celebrate the big day with, “Cast Members at Disney’s Old Key West Resort have welcomed Disney Vacation Club Members home for 30 years! We couldn’t be more thankful for all the memories they’ve helped create in the past three decades. Join us in wishing Disney’s Old Key West Resort a very happy anniversary! #DisneyCastLife #HappyAnniversary— at Disney’s Old Key West Resort (Lake Buena Vista, FL).”
