3D Officially Cut From ‘Ratatouille’ Attraction; Fans Express Mixed Feelings
3D attractions have always been somewhat controversial at the Disney Parks. While some love the immersive and thrilling nature of these attractions, others feel that these attractions make them feel sick. One such attraction that has received negative support is Ratatouille: The Adventure at Disneyland Paris.
This attraction, which is a similar format to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT within Walt Disney World Resort, has been highly debated over its use of 3D technology. While many children love the attraction, adults tend to feel sick from the 3D. Now, in a shocking twist, Disney has officially removed the 3D elements from the ride altogether.

‘Ratatouille’ Attraction Ditches 3D
Ratatouille: The Adventure at Disneyland Paris is a delightful attraction located in Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris Resort. This immersive 4D experience takes guests on a thrilling adventure through the world of Remy, the lovable rat chef from the Pixar movie Ratatouille.
As visitors shrink down to the size of a rat, they scurry through Gusteau’s restaurant, dodge larger-than-life obstacles, and even find themselves pursued by the villainous Chef Skinner. The ride’s innovative trackless ride system adds an extra element of surprise and excitement, making each ride unique and unforgettable. Disney describes the attraction, saying,
“Pull your tails in and feast your senses on this 4D experience at Disney Ratatouille. Remy and friends have cooked up a delicious storm. But it’s not long before they and you are discovered by Chef Skinner, who chases you through the sights, sounds and smells of Gusteau’s famous Parisian restaurant. New for 2014, this is a Disneylicious adventure that’s sure to leave you hungry for more.”
With its charming storyline, captivating visuals, and attention to detail, Ratatouille: The Adventure at Disneyland Paris Resort is a must-visit attraction for fans of the film and theme park enthusiasts alike. However, beginning today, April 26, the attraction will no longer be a 3D experience. Disney has instead opted for a 2D version of the ride moving forward.

Will This Change Come to the US Theme Parks?
With this change now in place, many 3D-haters are hoping that this will affect more Disney theme park rides. In the United States, more and more fans are hoping for future removals of 3D in rides, including Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
For now, Disney has not indicated whether this change to the Disneyland Paris attraction will be permanent or if removals like this will happen to other 3D Disney theme park attractions at this time. However, the positive reception may help Disney decide to move forward with this choice.
