When you hear the word ‘monorail’, I’m willing to bet that one place usually comes to mind: Disney Parks!
Despite the fact that monorails are found everywhere (even in Vegas), there’s just something special about the monorails at Disney that endears them to us. In fact, I’d go so far as to say I don’t feel like a trip to Disney World or Disneyland is complete without a ride on the monorail!

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company, Disney100 officially kicks off on Friday at Disneyland Resort! With the celebration comes a brand new look for the Disneyland monorail, and we are absolutely here for it! From the platinum wrap to ring in 100 magical years to the characters adorning the cars dressed in their dapper finest, this new look is incredible!
The monorails at Disneyland California have long been newer and sleeker than the monorails in Florida, but the new platinum look really takes them to the next level! The iridescent look from Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration has carried over to Disney100, and the effect is truly memorizing!

Since my home resort is Disney World, I’m a little jealous, but I have to admit, this is simply stunning! We love that Disneyland is going all out with this celebration–from the monorails to TWO nighttime shows, to a brand-new parade (and, of course, limited-edition merchandise). The celebration is sure to be one of Disney’s best yet!
