In a move that demonstrates its commitment to effective crisis management, Disney has hired Remi Yamamoto as Vice President of Media Relations. From Politics to Magic: Remi Yamamoto’s Journey
Yamamoto’s appointment comes at a crucial time for Disney as it continues to expand its media empire and face the challenges that come with it. Disney feels very confident that her contributions will make her a huge asset to the Walt Disney Company as a whole.
Carrer-wise, one of the things Yamamoto is most known for is her work with some major United States political figures. Just this past March, Yamamoto left her job at the White House, where she worked as a senior advisor for communications to the chief of staff. She was also press secretary for President Joe Biden during his 2020 campaign and then worked as a special assistant during his early days in office. Yamamoto also is a former employee of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Up until her departure, Yamamoto is said to have received glowing reviews from Joe Biden and the rest of his team. In a statement, Biden said;
“From the very start of the campaign, Remi has been unflinchingly loyal and extraordinarily capable. Her insights, good humor, and work ethic have been an incredible asset to all of us, and I am grateful for her service and friendship.”

Timing of Yamamoto’s Hiring Raises Eyebrows
Because of her incredibly political past, the timing of Yamamoto’s hiring does seem somewhat intentional. This year, the Walt Disney Company has found itself the enemy of the Republican Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, as well as a perpetrator of the so-called “woke-agenda.” Many fans seem to believe that this hiring was another way for Disney to make their political stance clear.
Yamamoto is an incredibly intelligent woman, and it will be fascinating to watch her take on such a massive role at the Walt Disney Company.
