Visiting the Happiest Place on Earth – or in Orlando, the “Most Magical Place on Earth” – doesn’t come cheap. After spending hundreds to enjoy the magic, the last thing anyone wants is to be escorted out of Disney parks and find themselves trending online for all the wrong reasons.
Unfortunately, this has become a frequent occurrence. From wild antics to unsettling behavior, guests are being removed from the parks for some truly bizarre reasons. From stripping naked to climbing park structures, here are some of the most jaw-dropping cases.
Stripping Naked
One of the most shocking incidents involved a male guest who stripped naked while riding Disneyland’s “it’s a small world.” In full view of stunned park-goers, he climbed through the attraction’s show scenes and even ran through the water canals. Authorities quickly apprehended him after his unusual stunt.
“He just looked out of it,” one guest, Maegan Carmona, told EW, adding that she was concerned for the man’s wellbeing. At least four cast members attempted to help him down during the incident. “He just didn’t look like he knew where he was. He looked worried. My friends and I had seen him, and it looked like he was going to jump on us. The cast member got him to sit down for a minute, but after that, he continued walking in the opposite direction, behind us. Once he got to a different part of the ride, he ended up walking into the water, started drinking it, and ran off toward the entrance.”
The guest was later escorted out by police and Disney security and arrested for indecent exposure and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Scaling Disney Rides
The pyramid in EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion, home to the Gran Fiesta Tour and San Angel Inn Restaurante, has attracted its fair share of thrill-seekers. Multiple guests have attempted to scale the structure, despite it being strictly off-limits.
Most notably, in 2016, a male guest managed to climb to the top of the pyramid and return to the ground undetected. A female companion was stopped by cast members when she tried to follow suit. More recently, another guest was caught on camera scaling a bridge in the San Fransokyo area of Disney California Adventure, although it’s unclear if they were ever apprehended or kicked out.
Fighting With Other Guests
Fights between guests have become alarmingly common at Disney parks. In August, a brawl erupted during a “Fantasmic!” performance at Disneyland, with guests reportedly fighting over seating arrangements.
Meanwhile, in 2023, a confrontation broke out at Magic Kingdom’s entrance after one family refused to move for another’s photo-op. In 2022, a brawl in Fantasyland led to two families being permanently trespassed from Walt Disney World, with several guests hospitalized and arrested, though charges were eventually dropped.
Jumping Into the Water
On hot days, the water at Disney parks might look inviting, but diving in can lead to trouble. Last October, a guest jumped into EPCOT’s World Showcase Lagoon over a bet. Though he managed to climb out without immediate repercussions, security soon caught up, and he was removed from the park.
Earlier this summer, another guest was caught swimming from Tom Sawyer Island to a dock behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom’s Rivers of America – a spot notorious for alligator sightings.
Fighting With Cast Members
Altercations between guests and cast members are unfortunately not unheard of. Earlier this year, a guest at EPCOT’s Space 220 Restaurant reportedly assaulted a cast member, even seizing a pole and swinging it around. Over the holidays last year, another guest allegedly punched a cast member at Magic Kingdom’s monorail station, with the incident quickly spreading across social media.
In response to rising aggression, both Disneyland and Disney World have introduced new courtesy agreements, asking guests to “please show common courtesy to fellow Guests and our Cast Members by not using profanity or engaging in unsafe, illegal, disruptive, or offensive behavior.”
Trying To Sneak Drugs Into the Parks
Disney parks are no exception to the law, yet guests still attempt to bring in drugs. In April 2022, a guest was arrested for trying to sneak meth into EPCOT. Meanwhile, another group was banned for 48 hours after being caught smoking weed in the Disneyland Hotel parking lot.
Stealing Mickey Ears
In December 2023, a man was charged with robbery after allegedly snatching a Mickey Mouse ears hat off a stranger’s head at Magic Kingdom. Mark Robinson claimed it was a misunderstanding, thinking the woman was wearing the same ears his daughter had lost earlier in the day.
According to the sheriff’s report, he forcefully snatched a Mickey Mouse ears-style hat from the woman’s head, claiming the hat belonged to his daughter. Robinson pleaded not guilty to the charge.
What’s the wildest reason you’ve heard for a guest being kicked out of Disney parks?
