Florida Man Busted at Magic Kingdom Gate With Cocaine-Filled Wallet

Walt Disney World Resort is known as the Most Magical Place on Earth, where families gather to make memories, celebrate milestones, and escape reality. But every now and then, someone tries to bring in a version of “magic” that Disney never intended.

While Disney Parks go to great lengths to ensure safety for all guests, from metal detectors to patrols by local law enforcement, one recent incident has proven just how vital those measures are.

According to a report filed by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, a man named Dustin Lee Wallace was arrested on March 29 while attempting to enter Magic Kingdom Park. The arrest wasn’t due to a forgotten prohibited item or a miscommunication over park rules—it was because he allegedly tried to smuggle illegal drugs into the park.

As part of Disney’s standard security protocol, all guests must walk through metal detectors and, if necessary, submit to additional screening. Wallace reportedly triggered extra screening and was asked by a security guard to remove the items from his pockets.

When he pulled out his wallet, the security guard immediately noticed its unusual bulk and his visibly nervous demeanor.

Upon closer inspection, the security guard requested that Wallace open the wallet. Inside, the guard discovered a suspicious white powder, prompting a call to law enforcement. A responding officer from the Sheriff’s Office conducted a field test that confirmed the substance was cocaine.

Wallace admitted to the officer that he had brought the drugs with him in an attempt to enter the Magic Kingdom, stating that he’d been using cocaine for the past month to cope with work-related stress. Following his confession, Wallace was arrested on charges of cocaine possession and later released on a $2,500 bond.

This incident isn’t the first time someone has tried to sneak illicit substances into Walt Disney World. Just a few months ago, another guest was caught with cocaine in her bag and her pocket, leading to her arrest and a permanent ban from the property.

While most visitors come to Disney to unwind and escape the stresses of daily life, this case is a reminder that theme park security is no joke. The safety of every guest depends on vigilant screening and strong partnerships with local authorities.
