Following a night of disruptive behavior at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, a man was taken into custody. While Disney World is known for its enjoyable rides, fantastic food, and live entertainment, some Guests have caused disturbances in the past by violating rules and behaving inappropriately.
Walt Disney World Resort gives Guests the chance to “experience the magic,” unlike anything they’ve ever seen before. Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are obviously popular spots, but there is more to Disney World than just the theme parks.
One of our favorite spots when visiting is none other than Disney Springs. The shopping and dining district gives Disney World Guests the opportunity to enjoy some delicious dining, fun shopping, and plenty of entertainment options.
However, recently, a Florida man was arrested after causing a disturbance at the Disney World location.
The individual in question, identified as Edward Stephenson, a 30-year-old resident of Florida, was reportedly intoxicated and causing a disturbance at Disney Springs. According to Orange Circuit Court records, Stephenson had previously pleaded not guilty to trespassing charges in March. The Sheriff’s arrest report stated that Stephenson, who claimed to be a registered nurse, threatened local law enforcement.
The report stated that three deputies had to restrain Stephenson after he became uncooperative. Even after being secured, he continued to threaten the deputies, claiming that he would sue them. In addition to the disturbance he caused, Stephenson also allegedly made inappropriate comments to minors while visiting the Once Upon a Toy store at Disney Springs.
According to the report, Stephenson showed anger toward Security Cast Members and refused to comply with their requests to leave. Eventually, he was escorted out of the area and arrested after continuing to curse at and record deputies. The incident occurred on January 15, when law enforcement intervened after noticing the man’s belligerent behavior and foul language in the presence of children.
This, unfortunately, is one of many instances of bad Guest behavior while at Walt Disney World Resort. Disney World Guests went viral last year after brawling in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. In addition, there have been several reported arrests on Disney property, including multiple ones at Disney Springs and EPCOT involving intoxicated Guests.
